Good morning folks, I have not seen any “red box” matchups this week. Are you not doing them this week

    • I haven’t done the red box matchups in a few months. Had a lot of weeks where no one was contributing anything. I’m still doing the email matchups however.

  2. The Walmart here all are $5.97

My wal-mart won’t let me use coupons that are worth more than the cost of the product.

    • I’ve had the printed coupon policy in hand and lost past arguments because “the manager has final say irrespective of the corporate policy”; however, sometimes they simply don’t know their own corporate policy, so it’s worth an argument with a printout of the policy.

If coupon value exceeds the price of the item, the excess may be given to the customer as cash or applied toward the basket purchase.

      HOWEVER:

We honor the manufacturer limitations [So if the coupon specifies “no cash back” or any similar wording, no overage.]

Store Managers have the final decision in taking care of the customer.

  4. Walgreens would only let me use one coupon.

    • When I know a coupon is “cashier dependent,” I make sure I have other things in the order so that the coupons do not stand out. I got four Bic Soleil the other day, but I also bought Community Coffee, a Sally Hansen clearanced nail polish, and a couple Christmas clearance items.

  5. My Walgreens did the same thing – “you can use one coupon or you can buy the razors separately”.
Of course this was said after excruciating minutes ticked by while the cashier read every word on the coupon – out loud! By this point the store, which had been empty, was now full and everyone was behind me ready to check out. I had other items to purchase so there wouldn’t have been an overage. I said “please cancel this transaction” and I left the store. I always swear to stop shopping at Walgreens and then get lured back, but I think this may have done it for me!

    • Oh Karen……I feel your pain on this one. This is exactly why I gave up on shopping at Walgreens last year, they can be just downright RUDE at times. Plus just like you said I could enter a complete empty store only to have 8 or 10 people hovering over my back huffing & puffing while the cashier read my coupons – that’s way too much drama for me! Plus it makes you feel like you’ve done something wrong. We only have 1 Walgreens in my area so I’m totally done with that one, but when I’m in other areas & there’s something I want I make sure to stop in and get it…….& there’s never been any issues with any other Walgreens. Best of Luck on Couponing in the New Year!!

  6. My Walgreens would not allow the Bic razor deal. The half price $6.79 razor is $3.39, and they would not accept the second $4 coupon as it is more than the cost of second razor. Something I had not previous encountered with BOGO 1/2 Off scenarios at WG. Be sure that your coupon is always less than the price the 1/2 price item.

  7. campanita says:

Actually that is part of the coupon policy, they would not take coupons that are more than the product. I bought some other razors that cost $8.29 to be able to do the deal. My beauty advisor trusts me and knows that I would not take advantage of her, like other customers try to do. She said that even if the registers take both coupons is not the right thing to do as some cashiers will get in trouble, especially the new ones.

  8. Hello today is the 8th of january I ma misisng the email for the past few days. Please update and send your great coupons and savings senarios.
