RUN! New $1/2 BIC Stationery Product printable coupon = 56 PENS for $0.03 TOTAL at Walgreens through 8/5!

Whoa! We have a hot new printable coupon this morning. You need to print this coupon immediately. Through Saturday 8/5, you can get 56 BIC pens for only $0.03 total (plus tax.) Make sure you get a raincheck if your store is running low on stock. Here’s the new coupon you need to print:

$1/2 BIC Stationery Products printable coupon (preclipped)

This deal should work just fine without beeps, because the Walgreens registers will allow coupons up to the total combined price of the items that match the coupons. Through 8/5, BIC Cristal or Paper Mate Pens 8 or 10 ct will be on sale for just $0.29. Bic Xtra Bold Cristal Pens 8 ct are pictured and seven packs (56 total pens) will be $2.03 total. If you use two of the coupon below, you will only owe $0.03 plus any applicable sales tax. Here’s the scenario…

At Walgreens through 8/5:
Use two $1/2 BIC Stationery Products printable coupon (preclipped)
NET PRICE FOR ALL: $0.03 (less than 0.1 cent per pen – wow!)

Make sure that you buy SEVEN packs of pens to make this deal work right. You need the total to be over $2 to get two coupons through without beeping. While I did have a few people comment on the previous deal that made mistakes (like trying to use a coupon when buying two packs), those that bought seven had no problems with the coupon I wrote about previously. In fact, this is what reader “Robin2” wrote:

Verified at my Walgreens! 7 packs of pens, I bought 4 of the Xtra Bold and 3 packs of 10count Bic Crystal black ink (also rang up 29cents). No beeps, cashier thought I had more coupons to give her. Incidentally, my store did not have these tagged on sale on the shelf, despite having everything around them tagged on sale.

Another option is to buy four packs and use one coupon. It’s still a pretty good deal, but not as awesome as the seven pack deal. You would use only one coupon and pay $0.16 plus tax total for four packs.

Walgreens coupon policy clearly states that if the coupon value is greater than the selling price of an item, the coupon should not be accepted. Just because the register doesn’t beep, doesnt make it ok. It’s a shame when trusted coupon sites such as yours encourage wrongful use of coupons.

    • Steve Pinski says:

You are welcome to have that opinion, but the selling price of the items in this case is $2.03 and $2 of coupons are being used. The combined value of the coupons does not exceed the selling price. That is why the register allows this to happen. I understand how people can interpret this differently, but I do not agree with their interpretation. Walgreens has a simple “fix” if they disagree. They are in complete control of the way that their registers process coupons.

Now…now…she’s allowed to disagree, but thank you 😉

      • Jennifer says:

Yes, thank you Steve for all you do! I am not, however, “jealous”. As a Walgreens manager I hate having to be the bad guy when people come into my store with these kinds of deals.

  2. Hey Steve, I admire your optimism that any Walgreens in the country will have a single package of pens left at this late date! Yes, rain checks are the way to go.

I shopped on Sunday with my 3 Bic coupons (2 printed $1/2 and one $1/1 SS) and ended up with 110 pens for 45 cents oop, mostly tax. No issues, no problems, all coupons scanned fine.

My grandchildren’s teachers will be thrilled with the donation.

    • Steve Pinski says:

Hahahaha that’s why I explicitly mentioned the raincheck. Sixth day of the sale means that most folks will need to get one, unless their store got their midweek restock and the pens were in it. Congrats on the nice stock-up 😉

  3. I did the deal on Monday and it worked great, i couldn’t find the 8 count but they did have the 10 count for $.29 and came up a total of $.03. Thanks for this awesome deal!

Thanks so much for the post! I was able to go in today and get 7 packs for $.03. I’ve been couponing for 5 years and Walgreens has always operated this way, as long as the total of all items does not exceed the coupon value they will accept it, I have even had managers confirm this for me. To shame you for posting this is a foolish thing to do, you are one of many coupon blogs that have posted this same deal. Not one of you is wrong and thats not just an opinion. Thanks again!!!

  5. Hello all. I just walked out of my Walgreens and bought 7 Bic pens and used 2 of the $1 off 2 Bic coupons with no issues. Thanks for this great deal!!

  6. This deal didn’t work for me today! The coupon didnt scan ;(
