Publix Shopping Trip (Maureen) – Paid $11.43 for $68.73 in Merchandise (83.4% Saved)

I shopped the new Publix sale on Saturday.  I was waiting for the new purple flyer deals and coupons that started today, so naturally, I forgot my Advil Menstrual Relief coupons, which Is the only thing I planned to get in the new purple flyer.  No matter, though, because my store did not have any Sweet Earth Burrito or Bowl products (they gave me a rain check and said they should have these new items in stock soon), so I will be checking back before Wednesday for Sweet Earth products.  I’ll also be getting some Mott’s applesauce with the coupon we are expecting in tomorrow’s Sunday inserts.  I used a $5/$40 Winn Dixie total order coupon that I received for completing a shopper satisfaction survey; information about this survey is on every Winn Dixie receipt.  And lastly, this isn’t a blockbuster trip relative to savings rate, but these are great deals, in my opinion.  The final tally reflects the extra $5 discount.

  1. My IBOTTA no longer has a Blue Plate offer. Did it disappear overnight, or do you still have it?

**I am so over them ending these deals early !!! (I did however, get my Walgreen’s VIVA paper towels from Customer Service 🙂 )

    • Steve Pinski says

I still have both offers in my app right now.

    • ladybugpam says

me too! that is just not fair to pull an offer earlier than expiration date. Ibotta is not supposed to be like co51 which has a limited number of rebates available. I had to get a few from customer service, too.

      • ALL rebate apps have a limited number of offers. That is why SavingStar offers disappear when the maximum number of activations is reached, even though they know not everyone who activates the offer will redeem it. But if you activate an offer, it’s yours to redeem until the expiration date.

I can deal with Checkout51 because we know we only have a week for any offer, and they are usually good about giving a warning (“Not many left!”) when they are getting close to the maximum number of allowed redemptions for an offer. Plus, we don’t have to complete any tasks to unlock an offer and are not given any guarantees that the offer will be available for the entire week.

What is enraging me about ibotta is that they are putting absurdly long expirations on some offers (I’ve seen 12/31/17 recently) and then pulling the unlocked offers out of people’s galleries after only a few days. Unlocking the offer used to reserve it for you in the same way that activating a SavingStar offer reserves it for you. Now it means nothing, and the expiration dates mean nothing. Ibotta doesn’t even give any notice (as Checkout51 does) when the offer is nearing the maximum number of redemptions. It just disappears without warning. And it burns me that I get a steady stream of notifications urging me to redeem offers for this or that bonus. If they can notify me when one of my teammates redeems an offer, they can notify me when one of my unlocked offers is going to be pulled early.

I totally agree. I should have said that you shouldnt be subjected to those limits once youve unlocked an offer. Once its reserved, it should be yours. I hope they cut it out!
