I had a great trip to Walgreens today! It would’ve been even better if I had remembered to take my Mitchum coupons with me. I had a 20x Everyday Points coupon in my Walgreens Balance Rewards account online, so I clipped that baby to my card and earned even more points for my purchases today.

Here are the points earned today that aren’t listed with any individual items:
5000 Balance Rewards Points (value $5-$6.25) for passing another $50 of Beauty Enthusiast Club qualifying items purchased
250 Everyday Balance Rewards Points (value $0.25-$0.31) earned for today’s purchases
4750 extra Balance Rewards Points (value $4.75-$5.94) for my 20x Everyday Points digital coupon (not everyone has this)
TOTAL POINTS NOT LISTED WITH ITEMS: 10,000 (value $10-$12.50)
***Since I only redeem my points in increments of 40,000 for $50, that means that the higher value ($12.50) is what should apply here. I included those savings in the final stats for the trip.

  1. Do you get credit towards the Beauty Rewards when you use points to pay for the items? TIA as this is new to me.

    • Steve Pinski says:

Any points used to pay will reduce the credit you have towards Beauty. I did not redeem any points on this visit.

  2. So im a little confused. Did you have to use any points or was this just coupons? Thanks

    • Steve Pinski says:

Only coupons. Paid some out of pocket, but earned a pile of points.

  3. Thanks for the heads up on the garnier towelettes! I think the Irish Spring deal amounts are a bit off;; correct me if I am not seeing it your way tho LOL! Balance after two coupons is $5.98, receive a $4 register reward making the two $1.98 or .99 each! Once again, many thanks for all of your dedicated hard work!

    • Steve Pinski says:

Ooops I did an Irish Spring deal at CVS too and I pasted but forgot to change everything. Fixed now.

  4. The Irish Spring body wash deal as written is confusing. Is it $3 or $4 back? And math is off too, I think.

    • Steve Pinski says:

I did an Irish Spring deal at CVS too and I pasted but forgot to change everything. Fixed now.

  5. Steve…………HELP !!!

Can you clarify this for me, because I am not coming up with the figures you have posted: (I’m getting $5.98 price at register w/ $4 RR = $1.98 for two (or $.99 each)????

TWO IRISH SPRING BODY WASHES, on sale $3.99 (reg. $4.59)
Get $4 Register Rewards for buying two Irish Spring Body Wash
Used two $1/1 Irish Spring Body Wash printable coupons (preclipped)
Price at Register: $3.98, but received $3 Extra Bucks
NET PRICE FOR ALL: $0.98 (or 49 cents each!)

    What am I missing? 🙂

  6. Hi Steve,

“have an extra item to absorb the overage from the store coupon” What kind of extra do I need? Another Shampoo or a filler? Thank you for your postings!!

    • Maureen says:

Anything so long as the net cost of the filler is greater than the amount of overage you expect.

  7. campanita says:

My Walgreens will take only one of the $2 cleansers due to the policy. The beauty advisor said that even if I use 2 of the $2 cleansers and the register takes them, that is not right because the 50% item is $2.99 minus the $2.50 book coupon the total would be just $.49 and that is why I should not use another coupon unless is $.49 coupon or less.
I noticed a lot people still do it, but my beauty advisor said that they were told by their district manager to be aware of this situation and do not let customers to do it. My question is has the coupon policy change again?

    • Steve Pinski says:

No, the policy hasn’t changed and I realize that technically the $0.02 is a problem if the cashiers choose to enforce it.

FYI – The Skin Care coupon is $5 off of two, not $2.50 off of each one. There’s nothing on the coupon stating that the $5 discount comes off equally on both items at $2.50, even if that’s how the register chooses to apply it.

  8. Aymet Hashmi says:

Hi, just to ask you did everything in a single transaction ?

  9. I couldn’t find the garnier towelettes b1g1 50% off at any walgreens. What am I missing?

  10. Hi! I’m planning to do these deals because I also have 20x everyday points. Can you please clarify how you got 5000 balance rewards points on beauty…. $7.98 for 2 irish springs, $17.97 for towelettes and $14 for whole blends?? Am I missing something?

    • And in addition to that, please correct me if I’m wrong, I read somewhere that Walgreens only accepts 1 manufacturing coupon for bogo?

    • Maureen says:

Steve can correct me, but he wrote,”5000 Balance Rewards Points (value $5-$6.25) for passing another $50 of Beauty Enthusiast Club qualifying items purchased.” He didn’t say he earned the beauty points entirely in this transaction, so I assumed he had at least $10.05 previously earned, and the $39.95 he purchased in this transaction put him over the top, and he earned 5,000 points. If that is what he meant, he perhaps should have included a note of explanation.

It’s hard to account for Walgreens beauty points. If I purchase $25 in personal care items, I’ll technically have earned 2,500 points in the beauty club (5,000 points for every $50 spent), but I won’t see those points until my accrued beauty and personal care total reaches $50, so I don’t count the points on the $25 transaction. But if the next transaction includes $25 in beauty, I will earn 5,000 points in that second transaction because I reached the $50 mark with the first and second $25 transactions combined.

I think that is why Steve gave himself 5,000 points – his $39.95 put him over the $50 mark, so the 5,000 points for beauty enthusiast were awarded in this transaction even though they were not 100% earned in this transaction.

Walgreens is confusing. I think we can make a note in future trip write-ups that we had $xx.xx previously earned toward the beauty club (not accounted for in prior trip breakdowns), so the $xx.xx earned in the current trip pushed us over $50 so we were awarded 5,000 points.

      • Oh I see. Thank you 😊. I’m a newbie and totally confused in couponing at Walgreens. Btw how do you calculate the 20X on beauty and personal care?

        • Maureen says:

You earn 10 everyday points for every $1.00 you spend on any products you purchase, so the 20x point booster multiplies the everyday points earned for beauty and personal care items in your basket for that transaction. The 20x booster is a one-time use perk, so you want to buy all your beauty and personal care products in the transaction you are using the point booster on.

          • Thank you so much 😊 I’m going to Walgreens today. I’m gonna try these deals. You’re a big help ☺️
