CVS 4/9 (Maureen) – Paid $10.94 for $136.45 in Merchandise (92% Savings Rate)

I had a mixed trip to CVS Sunday.  The Propel was wiped out (checked two stores), and I decided to pass on the Calendula deal because the printable coupon always beeps, and my stores will not accept it.  I had a disappointment with the Tums coupon (noted below), and the Aleve PM price was higher than I expected.  In retrospect, I would have skipped the Zantac/Tums and Aleve PM, but I was trying to impress Steve.  Overall, it was a decent trip.

Note: The two $1/2 CVS candy printables are different.  One has a picture of Starburst and M&Ms and the other has a picture of Snickers and Skittles.  Each has a limit of one per customer, but since they were different coupons, and I bought four bags, I was able to use both.

NET PRICE FOR ALL: $3.00 ($1.50 each)!
Note: My inserts did not have the Hershey’s coupons in the 3/26 SS, and I am not sure that the $1/2 can be used on the bagged candy that I bought.  The $1/2 I saw in the previews is for novelties and centerpiece items.  There was a $2/3 for Easter bagged candy in the same insert.  If the $1/2 applies to bagged Easter candy and I had one, the net price would have been $1 each.

ONE ZANTAC DUO FUSION 24-CT, on sale $8.99 (reg. $9.79)
ONE TUMS 12 COUNT BOTTLE, $2.49
Used one $2.00 off $10 heartburn relief CVS coupon from red coupon machine (for some, not all)
Used one $5/1 Zantac 24 ct or larger or Duo Fusion 20 ct or larger printable manufacturer’s coupon (preclipped)
NET PRICE FOR ALL: $1.48
Note: I printed a $1.50/1 any Tums product coupon from the Tums website, but it beeped.  The cashier read the fine print and said the 12-count bottle must be considered trial size because the beeping coupon excludes trial size products.  The Tums bottle was on the regular shelf, not in the travel section, but she wouldn’t budge.  I decided to keep the Tums because I had a long line behind me.  If the coupon had been accepted as I planned, both products would have been free.  Or if I had skipped the Tums and CRT coupon, I would have paid $0.99 for the Zantac.

ONE GALLON TG LEE DAIRY PURE MILK, on sale $2.79 (reg. $3.99)
Used one $0.55/1 DairyPure Milk – 4-9-17 RP; Includes (1) gal Only or (2) 1/2 gal Only (exp 05/31/17)

Note: The regular Aleve is $5.99 for the 20-count bottle, but the Aleve PM at my cheapest CVS store was $6.99.  I only had two $3/1 coupons, so I planned to pass on the get $5 when you spend $20 on Aleve or Bayer Extra Bucks promotion (if the price had been $5.99 for Aleve PM, both bottles would have been free).  However, I just found a $2/1 printable for Aleve PM, so I may go back for two more bottles and get the $5 Extra Bucks.  The total for four bottles will be $3.42 (86 cents each).

  1. Dang………….it sounds like you got some “stinker’s” for cashier’s in your area!!!
If it wasn’t in the travel section, then it shouldn’t be considered a travel size.
I would swing in there the next time I am out, and ask to speak to a manager and get my refund. 🙂

  2. Maureen– I know what you mean about those Calendula coupons! Here’s the crazy thing…today I bought the Calendula Burn cream and there was a $3 peelie on the box (and a matching Ibotta). I used it at the register and it beeped! Cashier read the screen to me that nothing purchased matches this coupon. I showed him the box and the area where the coupon was peeled off! Crazy. Luckily he pushed it through. Something is wrong with those coupons.

    • Yes, I knew the peelies beep as well as the printables. Boiron coupons never scan.

      • When I used the Calendula ip, it beeped and cashier looked at coupon. He said, “This Q says it cannot be combined with any other purchase”. I looked at him like he was speaking another language. Are you kidding me? He made me ring it up separately and, of course, it still beeped. Then he refused the Q. This was getting ridiculous. I asked him to bring over mgr. She pushed it through with no questions asked and gave me a smile, too! This was this cashiers second strike in a really bad shop.

btw…I had that RG single as well as the Calendula cream in my Ibotta before I went shopping. When I came home, they were both gone and I only had the twin pack and Sport RG. Checkout51 accepted the Calendula cream under the gel rebate. So, at least I got $1.00 there!

        • So frustrating! I won’t touch a Boiron product deal after the headache I had after the last time I tried to use one at CVS.

  3. Steve & Maureen and everyone, I checked my Savingstar last night and I received the $3.50 off of 2 on the Right Guard Extreme. Headed out for that today….
