In case you didn’t know, there is a little bit of a pattern to the clearance madness over at Target. The normal progression for items on clearance starts at 15%, but increases to 30%, 50%, 70% and (occasionally) 90% off. Typically we only see 90% discounts on the seasonal merchandise.
Most Target stores also do their markdowns each week in each department on certain days. Here’s the (unofficial) schedule at most Target stores, so you know where to hunt for the newest clearance deals on the day you shop:
Mondays – Baby, Children’s Clothes, Office Supplies, Gift Wrap, Stationery and Electronics
Tuesdays – Domestic Products, Home Decor and Women’s Clothes
Wednesdays – Men’s Clothes, Garden, Toys, Beauty, Food and Health
Thursdays – Lingerie, Sporting Goods, Shoes, Luggage and Housewares
Fridays – Automotive, Jewelry, Cosmetics, Hardware and Home Improvement
Also, if you see a clearance item at a Target store and want to check to see the inventory and price at another Target store in your area, you can do that with Brickseek by entering the item’s DPCI# and your zip code. The DPCI# is the nine digit number found on the clearance tag (or on your receipt if you purchase the item.) When we find clearance deals, we typically list DPCI#s in the post if we have them.
