  1. I went to get these yesterday (along with Almay) and was very unsuccessful. The cashier insisted that I have to get a bigger pack because the value of the coupon is more than the item and the picture on the coupon clearly shows the bigger item (*rolls eyes*), then the 1st manager agreed that I had to get a bigger pack because they don’t give cash back (*rolls eyes again*). Then, the 2nd manager agreed with both of them, and even said I’d be getting a better deal by buying the big pack of the cheese?? (According to his math, I’m better off buying 8 $3 packs and saving $4.40 on $24, than buying 8 singles and getting $1.44 in overage.) He then continued to say that their registers will not accept a coupon for more than the value of the item, that they don’t work that way. I told him that wasn’t true because I’ve bought them at WalMart before, as many other people do. I tried to stand my ground because I feel like if we don’t, things will never change with WalMart’s employees. But, after 20 minutes of this ordeal, us standing to the side of the register like red-headed stepchildren, showing them their own coupon policy, pointing out the wording on the coupons and trying to reason with them, the 2nd manager – in his last ditch effort to get me off his back because I clearly wasn’t budging – tells me that they DEFINITELY also won’t accept my Almay coupons because they’re Walgreens coupons and hands them back to me. I again point out that that’s an advertisement and it clearly says MANUFACTURER COUPON, but he says NO and walks away! Over few dollars worth of overage (that they get reimbursed for), they missed out on about $50 worth of purchases. In the same trip, we got about $180 worth of stuff at Target and about $150 at Dillons. THIS is why we avoid WalMart like a plague. I don’t even want to think about attempting a $200-300 grocery, etc trip there, trying to use coupons or price match.

I did call the corporate store and gave them names. They apologized and said I should get a phone call from the store manager within 2-3 business days. We shall see.

Good for you. I agree, these managers know this, they just don’t want to deal with it.
