DollarGeneralfeb15mbIt is getting really cold with a threat of snow around North Alabama and while most people are running out to get bread and milk I had to go and get TP!! We were on our last roll so I came up with a great Dollar General scenario that would fit for me to get some much needed TP in case we get stuck in the house for a few days! I was pleasantly surprised that there were no hiccups with the $4/2 Beneful coupon. They were hesitant until I mentioned the change in the policy that will allow overage to pay for other items in the transaction and then they said that they would try it. I learned that it MUST be scanned in order for it to work properly. They cannot manually enter a coupon for more than the price of the item (even with the new policy). So, I convinced them to ring up two and scan the coupon “so we could see”. They did and there were no issues! YAYY!! I am loving that Dollar General has finally fixed their system to keep up with the changes!

  1. Wow! what a nice haul! I really want to try it with that overage new coupon policy, but I don’t really feel like arguing with them.. lol.

Last time I used a few coupons there, they said “Oh, we cannot accept black and white coupons.”
I’m like, really???? That is the most ridiculous reason I have ever heard… lol

    • Monica Bragg says:

All of my printables were black and white. They were hesitant but I just brought up the policy and asked nicely.

  2. There is an app called find&save. They had spend $20 get $10 back ( it deposits right to your PayPal ). All you have to do is snap the pic of the receipt … Not everyone gets the same offers but defiantly a good way to save $$$

  3. This whole time I thought the $5/$25 had to be after Q’s. DANG IT! LOL

  4. my coupon prints out with “Limit one per individual, household, or email address”

    • Monica Bragg says:

Are you talking about the $5/$25 coupon? If so, that is correct, you can’t use more than one.

  5. on the dog treats, it printed out on the bottom of the coupon. Can i still use that or no? thank you for you help!!

    • Monica Bragg says:

I am printing it from my iPad now because I used my others this morning and the wording is nowhere on the coupon.

  6. Awesome it worked for you. I attempted to do a similar deal today and even though the store coupon was scanned first, it added the $5 back into my total at the end. They wouldn’t budge on allowing the coupon through. Ugh. I ended up going to another store and spending more out of pocket then dealing with rude cashiers/managers. The coupons worked just fine at the other store, but I didn’t use the dog treat coupons.

  7. Nice! I wish the one by me was as cooperative. They are never interested in hearing from me what their coupon policy says

  8. I got $27 of merchandise but used 2 digital coupons and the $5/$25 and some printed coupons but they did not take the $5/$25 what did i do wrong?

    • Monica Bragg says:

I am not sure. It seems like several folks are having issues with it.

    • I usally let them scan the 5.00 off coupon from my phone first (text message coupon) then if have any digital coupons i put in my phone number on the key pad and then i give them my paper coupons last hopes this helps out or have the phone number to corporate office and call the from your cell at the store right in front of them!

  9. Monica live in North Alabama too, what store dd you go to. I usally go to the newest one on Wall Trana Hwy in Harvest, I think the worst one is on Hwy 53 next to Publix in Harvest. One time the manager said this coupon won’t work and i replied i guess not you didn’t scan it so how can it work!!! In my mind i was thinking DUMMY!!!

    • Monica Bragg says:

I now live on South Parkway so I went to the one furthest down South Parkway before you get to the river.

  10. Dog snacks where limit of 1 per person . I’m guessing cashier did not point out this to you.

    • Monica Bragg says:

That rule must have been applied by different stores because there was no limit at my store either.

  11. The limit was on the coupon not the store.

    • Monica Bragg says:

The only limit on the coupon was a limit of one per purchase. Each two items (since that is what is required by the coupon) is a purchase.
