I realize that many experienced couponers dislike the show. In many ways, it gives couponers a bad name and encourages new couponers to engage in bad practices, such as shelf-clearing and hoarding. I agree that these are some shortcomings of the show; however, were it not for me stumbling upon the show while channel-surfing earlier this year, I’d still be paying full price (and struggling to make ends meet.)
So, with that in mind, I’m very grateful for the Extreme Couponing show on TLC. As for the new version of the show, Extreme Couponing All-Stars…I’m still undecided. It’s very difficult to have a competition between couponers at different stores. Heck, someone in a more expensive Publix market would be at a huge disadvantage if they were to play against me, because I would be shopping in the Tampa Bay market, one of Publix’s most competitive marketplaces where prices are lower.
I’m eager to hear what you thought of the new show (or even what you thought about the original “Extreme Couponing” show on TLC.) Post a comment
