Here is our list of Walgreens deals that are free or nearly free in the weekly ad starting 4/16. If you want to check out the full weekly ad and coupon matchups for the week of 4/16 – 4/22 at Walgreens, go here. If you are shopping later in the week, I strongly advise that you check out our Walgreens Category to see if there’s anything new since we published the weekly ad matchups and this list.

Don’t forget that Walgreens now allows you to cash in points on smaller totals. See the breakdown below. Also, DO NOT redeem points if you plan on earning points on a transaction. If you do that, you will not earn the new points – with some exceptions. (If the deal requires you to buy a certain number of an item *like “Buy Two, Get 500 Points”, you can still redeem points and earn the new points. DO NOT redeem points when doing a deal that requires a certain dollar amount like “Buy $15 of Aveeno, Get 5000 Points.”)

1,000 Points = $1
2,000 Points = $2
3,000 Points = $3
5,000 Points = $5
10,000 Points = $10
18,000 Points = $20
30,000 Points = $35
40,000 Points = $50

Also note that Walgreens changed their coupon policy in late May 2014. There are quite a few changes and you can read more about them here.

  1. I bought two Almay make-up remover liquids on Saturday for $5.99 BOGO50% ($8.98 for two) and one Gold Medal flour ($1.89 sale with in-ad coupon). The register took both $3/1 Almay MQs and the $4/2 Wags coupon plus the $0.25 MQ for flour. I paid $0.62 plus tax and got the $3 RR for Almay. So the Almay was a $4.02 MM on two (before tax).

I think having the flour in the transaction made the register accept the MQs and Wags Q without issue even though I technically earned coupon overage even before the RR. Plus, I’ll get $0.25 SavingStar for the flour.

I also got 2 Almay liquid makeup removers for $8.98 after the $5.99 BOGO. I added the Colgate to my transaction to avoid the coupons beeping. I was able to use 2 $3.00 Almay mq’s and the $4/2 Walgreens q. I received the $3.00 Almay RR and the $2.50 Colgate RR. I also ended up with a $4.02 MM, and it triggered my $5.00 balance reward for hitting $50.00 beauty enthusiasts purchase. In my 2nd transaction I got the Almay wipes also $8.98 after BOGO and had other items to avoid q’s beeping and ended up with another $4.02 MM. Thank you so much Steve for the tip to avoid that dreaded 😱 beep.
