Whoa! We have a bunch of awesome overlapping offers on Schwarzkopf Hair Care over at Walgreens! There is a current sale and points deal, plus we have a mail-in rebate, newspaper coupons and two different cashback offers. This deal could vary a little bit, based on whether or not SavingStar double dips on the rebates and if the coupon is deducted from the rebate. I’ve written up two scenarios…one is if you want to play it safe and the other is for those of you that want to try for a home run.

There’s always a chance that SavingStar won’t honor a rebate if you use coupons. You could choose to just do something like the first scenario, take your freebie and profit and move on. This first scenario is that deal idea.

Playing it safe (at Walgreens)…

BUY ONE SCHWARZKOPF GLISS SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER OR TREATMENT, on sale $4.99
Get $4.99 mail-in rebate (the rebate says it will deduct for coupons used, but we don’t know for sure, so we’re going to just use the SavingStar instead of a paper coupon in this scenario)
Get $2 cashback from SavingStar for buying one Schwarzkopf Gliss, Essence Ultime or Styliste Ultime Hair Care or Styling
Get 1000 Balance Rewards points (value $1-$1.25) for buying select Schwarzkopf Hair Care
No coupons used
Price at Register: $4.99, but get $4.99 rebate, $2 from SavingStar and 1000 BR points (value $1-$1.25)
NET PRICE: FREE + UP TO $3.25 MONEYMAKER!

But there’s also the chance you could hit a home run. The SavingStar offers could double dip and if you want to take the chance by using coupons, you can do that too. Here’s the more risky deal you can do, but things could go awry. For example, SavingStar could elect not to give you anything because you used coupons on the items, and/or your rebate could be reduced. If both of those things happen, that could cost you $9.50 from the deal ($7 of SavingStar offers and $2.50 for the coupon deduction off one item.) Still, if you’re in a gambling mood, you could try this…

If you feel like rolling the dice (at Walgreens)…

BUY TWO SCHWARZKOPF GLISS SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER OR TREATMENT, on sale $4.99
Get $2.49-$4.99 mail-in rebate (the rebate says it will deduct for coupons used, but I feel pretty confident that the coupon for $5 will only show below one item; therefore I think you will get the full $4.99…but maybe you will only get $2.49)
Get $2 cashback from SavingStar for buying one Schwarzkopf Gliss, Essence Ultime or Styliste Ultime Hair Care or Styling (could double dip with offer below)
Get $5 cashback from SavingStar for buying two Schwarzkopf Gliss, Essence Ultime or Styliste Ultime Hair Care or Styling (could double dip with offer above)
Get 1000 Balance Rewards points (value $1-$1.25) for buying select Schwarzkopf Hair Care (you will get 2000 points total for buying two – $2-$2.50 value)
Use one $5/2 Schwarzkopf Gliss or Ultime Product coupon, 2/12 RP insert
Price at Register: $4.98, but get $2.49-$4.99 rebate, up to $7 from SavingStar and 2000 Balance Rewards points (value $2-$2.50)
NET PRICE FOR ALL (WITH A LOT OF LUCK): AS LOW AS FREE + $9.51 MONEYMAKER!
***However…because you’re gambling a little bit here, you might not get anything from SavingStar and your rebate could be as low as $2.49. If that’s the case, your deal turned into a freebie but nothing more after paying $4.98 and get $2-$2.50 of points and a $2.49 rebate.

Extreme Couponing Tip: You can usually get two prints of most internet coupons. To find them in the easiest possible way, use our preclipped links that take you right to the coupon. Then come back and click the same link to get your 2nd print. This will save you the time spent searching for the coupon.

Comments

  1. I did this yesterday before seeing the MIR and savingstar did give me the $7. Hopefully it’ll work for others. 🙂

  2. Bought two hair spray for $3 (Walmart clearance) , paid $1 after coupon, got $7 from saving star.

  3. Bought 2 gloss, one shampoo and one conditioner. SavingStar did give me $7. I used the $5 coupon on two. Going to try my luck with the MIR too.

  4. FYI…I didn’t know where to write this up at, so I am putting it here. I went to Walmart and found the Schwarzkopf Ultime hair color for 9.97, see below:

Used 3.00 coupon from 2/12 RP
    Submitted to SavingStar for 3.00
    Submitted to Ibotta for 2.00
    Submitted to CO51 for 2.00
    ———————————————
    10.00

Plus there is a “TRY ME FREE” rebate for up to 10.99(minus any coupons used)

    Since it was 9.97 and I used a 3.00 coupon, I should get 6.97 back for a total of a 7.00 MM

  5. I bought the Gliss sham & cond. Used the 5.00 coupon.(submitted to sstar and got 7.00)
1 Got2b product and used the 2.00, (submitted to sstar and got 2.00)
2 Purex and used the 100/2, (submitted to sstar and got 3.98 towards my 3.00 wyb 10.00 goal)
2 Snickers Crispers. used the B1G1 free (submitted to Ibotta and got .25)(on sale 2/1.00)

My subtotal came to 10.45 after coupons so i was able to used the 5X the points coupons giving me a total of 2900 points.

After coupons and cash back I paid 1.20 for all PLUS 2900 points.(How much would 2900 points be worth?)
I am also going to send in the MIR which I think will only result in a 2.49 rebate, but that’s fine.

    • Steve Pinski says:

2900 points is worth $2.90 if you redeem your points in smaller chunks. If you redeem in larger chunks (like 40K points for $50), the points can be worth up to $3.62.

  6. Just wondering says:

I printed rebate and am seeing an expiration date of 01/15/2017. Am I doing something wrong? TIA!
