What’s FREE (or almost free) at Walgreens 12/18-12/24

NEVER MISS A HOT DEAL! SUBSCRIBE TO OUR DAILY EMAIL NEWSLETTER!

Walgreens-freeHere is our list of Walgreens deals that are free or nearly free in the weekly ad starting 12/18. If you want to check out the full weekly ad and coupon matchups for the week of 12/18 – 12/24 at Walgreens, go here. If you are shopping later in the week, I strongly advise that you check out our Walgreens Category to see if there’s anything new since we published the weekly ad matchups and this list.

Don’t forget that Walgreens now allows you to cash in points on smaller totals. See the breakdown below. Also, DO NOT redeem points if you plan on earning points on a transaction. If you do that, you will not earn the new points – with some exceptions. (If the deal requires you to buy a certain number of an item *like “Buy Two, Get 500 Points”, you can still redeem points and earn the new points. DO NOT redeem points when doing a deal that requires a certain dollar amount like “Buy $15 of Aveeno, Get 5000 Points.”)

1,000 Points = $1
2,000 Points = $2
3,000 Points = $3
5,000 Points = $5
10,000 Points = $10
18,000 Points = $20
30,000 Points = $35
40,000 Points = $50

Also note that Walgreens changed their coupon policy in late May 2014. There are quite a few changes and you can read more about them here.

  1. Is this pints booster after using register rewards as well?

    • Register rewards are manufacturer’s coupons, not store coupons, so don’t count them. You need $30 at sale prices after any Walgreens coupons have been applied. For example, Axe gift sets are $10. There is a $2/1 Walgreens monthly book coupon and a $3/1 manufacturer coupon. $8 of the Axe purchase will count toward the $30 because the store coupon deducts $2 from the $10 price. But the $3 manufacturer coupon doesn’t matter when calculating the $30 total for the points bonus.

      • I tried the Axe gift set deal today. They took the $3/1 manufacturer coupons but would not take the $2/1 Walgreens monthly book coupon as well. They said the Walgreens book coupon was vendor sponsored (states that in the book) and therefore it would be like using two manufacturer coupons on each item.

        • I had the Walgreens IVC coupon clipped to my account digitally, and it came off automatically even though I used the $3/1 MQ with it. My receipt shows the $3/1 Axe gift set MQ and the $2/1 “STR IVC” discount. I didn’t have any problem.

Most of the store coupons for name brand items are vendor-sponsored. The $2 Extra Bucks for buying an Axe gift set at CVS is probably vendor-sponsored as well.

  2. Christopher Sumpter says:

Pantene stylers weren’t included in the promotion, but I had a $.50 Kids Crest on my Checkout 51 that I almost missed.
