sonicare-wagsUPDATE FROM STEVE 12/20: THE DOUBLE DIPPING POINTS NO LONGER WORKS. YOU CAN USE THE DIGITAL COUPON OR IN-AD COUPON, BUT YOU WON’T GET POINTS FOR BOTH.

I had a great little trip to Walgreens today. I bought a few other odds and ends, but there weren’t any coupons involved in those deals and I decided not to write up the whole trip. The important part is this deal on Philips Sonicare Series 2 Toothbrush. It is on sale for $39.99 right now; my store’s regular price is $72.99.

Through Tuesday 12/20/16, we have an in-ad store coupon for 10,000 Balance Rewards points for a $30 purchase (after all sales and store coupons have been deducted.) There is a Walgreens Paperless Coupon identical to this one, and guess what…I got credit for BOTH and scored 20,000 points for my purchase. Also, this tracked towards the Walgreens Beauty Enthusiast Club too (which gives you 5000 Balance Rewards points when you buy $50 of participating Beauty & Personal Care items.)

I didn’t even include the Beauty Enthusiast credit, but this purchase got me 80% of the way to a $5 reward. My deal looked like this…

ONE PHILIPS SONICARE SERIES 2 TOOTHBRUSH, on sale $39.99 (reg. $72.99)
Get 10,000 Balance Rewards points (value $10-$12.50) with $30 purchase and in-ad store coupon through 12/20/16 – use up to 3x
Get 10,000 Balance Rewards points (value $10-$12.50) with $30 purchase Walgreens Clip2Card Paperless Coupon through 12/20/16 – use up to 3x
Get 10 Everyday Points for every $1 spent (390 points for this purchase; value $0.39-$0.49)
Get 3000 Balance Rewards points (value $3-$3.75) with $15 purchase personalized Walgreens “Thank You” Clip2Card coupon (not everyone has this)
Used the two Walgreens Clip2Card coupons listed above – they deducted automatically (I clipped them before shopping)
and used the in-ad store coupon for 10,000 Balance Rewards points ($10-$12.50 value) with $30 purchase
and used one $10/1 Philips Sonicare 2 Series Plaque Control Rechargeable Toothbrush printable coupon (preclipped)
Price at Register: $29.99, but received 23,390 Balance Rewards points (value $23.39-$29.24)
NET PRICE: AS LOW AS $0.75!
***My deal was actually a little better than this, because I earned slightly more points, but I can’t explain the other points.

Now…since many of you will not have the Clip2Card coupon for the 3000 points, your deal will look like this…

  1. hi, do you know how many times I can do this deal? ty

  2. Because 12/17 and 12/18 , Walgreens has points double for. Beauty purchase!

  3. I did a similar deal – got the Phillips Sonicare Essence 1 (all that was left on the shelf). It had a peelie for 10 off. I also bought Cottonelle and 1 Wags Paper towels. Total after coupons 36.69. I received 32410 Bonus Points – 5K of which was the Beauty Enthusiast. Not sure where the other 7K came from.

  4. Jennifer Finkral says:

I wanted to say thank you so much. With the coupon, some of my points, ebates and meeting my beauty points I got this Sonicare 2 for 1.91!!!!!! I am still in shock. I asked the girl if using my points would keep me from getting my 10.00 from purchasing 30.00 and she said no and I have her name and she said she put notes in the computer that she would give it to me if somehow it didnt work out correctly. I rarely use Walgreens so I don’t know their policies on using points. I was frustrated though because it took me five phone calls later to finally get everything taken care of. But it was well worth it! so again thanks for looking out for us little people that dont have much money and sure helps with xmas presents.

    • Steve Pinski says:

Congrats! If you still received the points they should be on your receipt for the item. At Walgreens all the points you earn show up on the receipt immediately.

    • I was told if you redeem points then That will come off your grand total and not count towards the $30 total
      to get the bonus

      • Steve Pinski says:

I think that is risky. Typically, if points bring you below the dollar threshold for a points deal you won’t earn the new points.

  5. Did not work for me…not sure what I did wrong:
    Sonicare2 $39.99
    Coupon -$10.00
    Everyday Bal Rew 300 = $.30
    Bonus Bal Rew 10,000 = $10.00

    $39.99 minus $10Coupon minus $10BR minus $.30BR = $19.69

    • To get 20,000 points, you have to have the 10,000 points wys $30 point booster coupon clipped on your Walgreens app AND use the 10,000 wys $30 point booster coupon in the weekly ad. I can’t tell from your post if you tried to use both point booster coupons (digital and paper).

  6. My subtotal was $29.99 and then I used a “wag promo gift card that had $8 on it. I do not see on my receipt anywhere that shows I earned points in that transaction. It just says points earned from this transaction will post within 3-5 days. I’m not used to it not showing how many point I earned. Does this mean I didn’t get any points?

    • Well, I don’t know what happened. If I were you, I would call Walgreens customer service.

      • The gift card was the issue…problem solved! 🙂 thanks! (Now can the 20,000 points back be used again? Or is it just one time? Does anyone know? I would think the clip to card offer could only be used once?

    • It maybe the Wags Promo gift card you used. Whenever I use any type of Walgreens gift card in an order it ALWAYS screws up my points. So I dont ever use them on orders where I am gettting points in a threshold transaction.

  7. There is a good chance they’d have caught on to this..
I received an Insider tip last night of the glitch and went in the store and did about 5 or 6 transactions but I didn’t do the toothbrush.
I tried to do a transaction today it was $30 did the same as everything I did last night used another family member’s account but this time the receipt said I will see points in 3 to 5 days

  8. I was told the in-ad coupon and the clip2card offer is the same so i only got the 10,000 points

  9. I did this once with the toothbrush, another time with a tens device and got the 20000 both times. Tried today with various items and was told by the cashier that I could only use 3 coupons per transaction so I had to split up my purchase and get some things I didn’t plan on to get one of my totals over $30 with just 3 coupons and did not get any bonus points not even 10000 and she scanned the paper coupon and I had the digital one loaded. Wrote customer service will see if I get the 10000 at least. does anyone know if this is a corporate policy on coupons or just my store?
