Philip Morris has agreed to a $15 million settlement to settle a Marlboro Lights class action lawsuit. This lawsuit stems from Philip Morris violating Massachusetts state laws regarding the marketing of “light” cigarettes. They claimed that these were less harmful because they were lower in tar and nicotine.

Those entitled to relief are people in the following states who regularly purchased Marlboro Lights in the state of Massachusetts between 11/25/94 and 11/25/98: Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island or Vermont.

People who submit valid claims by the 11/28/16 deadline will be entitled to an equal settlement up to a maximum of $225 each. If every member of the entitled class submits a claim, the estimated check will be $75. NO PROOF OF PURCHASE IS REQUIRED. Go here to submit your claim.
