  1. Can you please shed some light on the new cvs policy? I just tried to do the moneymaker scenario with 2 Skintimate and 2 wet n wild gel wonder with my 5/15 coupon. The cashier rejected the 5:15 saying their new coupon policy is very strict and the total had to be 15 after coupons to use it. Not sure if he’s right or if he’s just being cranky because he generally doesn’t like couponers and always gives me a hard time. I’m going to try another store later but I figured you guys would know

    • Steve Pinski says:

There is a lot of ambiguity in the new policy, but nothing has changed at my store with respect to coupons. Others are finding different things.

      • Ken from Philly says:

I am finding that the dates are strictly enforced now, no more sandbagging for 2 weeks after the red coupon machine print, etc. and stacking those with more recent, but they are printing out the coupons more aggressively. I agree wityh Steve, choose your store wisely, I am lucky I have about 5 near me so I rotate and choose the most amenable store when I know I am on the edge. I recently had a receipt showing $8.22 before my next Crest $5 ECB, picked up a bottle of MW for $8.29, had a $2.00 coupon and a $2/6 CVS MW coupon, never had a problem before but the new receipt mysteriously showed I was $.71 away from my reward. I came back into the store, and they really made it hard by checking every line on the receipt, calling the manager up, etc.and finally they just forced one through and refunded it to get the ECB to print out, no one could figure out why it tried to cheat me (I didn’t have a % off coupon either, and that was raised, so I wonder if they are now deducting that first).

The point is, they are scrutinizing it closely and going the “no” route where they used to just print out the missing ECB, no questions asked.
