walmart-logo-300x1521-300x152Starting 6/9/16, roughly 500 select Walmart stores will be ending ad or online price matching at the checkout register. The only price matches these stores will be accepting our price matches to Walmart.com.

The changes WILL NOT affect Walmart.com prices, Walmart.com’s online price matching and Walmart Savings Catcher.

Supposedly, these stores will also begin steeper, special long-term rollbacks on thousands of items throughout the store. The rollback prices in these stores will be deeper than those found at other Walmart locations that are not affected by the price match policy change.

IF YOUR STORE IS ONE OF THE ROUGHLY 500 UNDERGOING THIS CHANGE, you should start to see blue signs at or near checkout registers to inform you of this change.

To date, we are aware of some stores in NC and VA that are affected by this change. If you see the signs at your store, please comment with your location. I’m hoping this change is just isolated to a certain part of the country.

Thanks I Heart the Mart.

I live in Northwest Florida, Pensacola, in particular and at least one of the Wal-mart stores here (Mobile Highway) is going to stop price matching.

  2. Tom Collins says:

I once tried to pricematch with Walmart.com. It was a joke. To think they’d even begin to attempt to honor this policy staggers my imagination.

  3. Kristen says:

The cashier at the Walmart closest to me (near St. Louis, Mo) told me last Wednesday that they are not supposed to price match as many things anymore (I was using the $.99 Chex from CVS). I had the ad with me and she went ahead, but it was an interesting mention, considering that not too soon after the announcement was made about discontinuing price matching in some areas. No signs that I’ve seen yet, but we’ll see.
