publix-052616I had an AWESOME Publix trip today. This trip was done over two trips, because I actually rode my bike to Publix this morning and was using a backpack. (I have TWO Publix stores five blocks from my house…I’m a lucky guy.)

One of my transactions was over $50 before coupons, so I used the $10 off a $50 Visa Gift Card coupon when you buy $50 of groceries Publix store coupon in the Health & Beauty Advantage Flyer. The $50 gift card costs $54.95 to purchase because of the activation fee, so after the $10 coupon I paid $44.95. That’s a nice $5.05 profit that is carried down to the final stats for this trip at the bottom of this post.

Also worth mentioning…my store is one of the stores that does not carry the French’s Spicy or French’s Sweet Mustard. I had to buy four “Classic Yellow” ones and I didn’t have the correct coupons with me. Luckily, I was heading back for a second round so I picked up the coupons in between the trips and had Customer Service reimburse me for my two $0.50/1 coupons when I returned to the store.

Here’s what I bought, along with the coupons used:

  1. Also don’t forget the country crock on saving star if you activated it. It’s on there twice for me! That would be another 70 cents off!

    • Steve Pinski says:

I saw that when I submitted my Hellmann’s. Just haven’t taken the time to add it to the post. FYI – I had it on my list twice, but it only counted it as one offer for me when I scanned the items.

  2. And the “any brand” pasta sauce on Ibotta if you have that! Another quarter in your pocket!

  3. Way to go Steve!
Did the Smores Deal* this morning, along with most of the others you noted. All the coupons (19) flustered the girl and after reviewing my receipt at home she only deducted $2.50 for the (FREE Hershey’s Bar 6-pack when you buy Honey Maid Grahams 12.2-14.4 oz and Kraft Jet Puffed Marshmallows 10-24 oz Publix store coupons, Grocery Advantage Flyer (exp 5/27) – should be -$4.99 for each coupon in TRUE BOGO), mulling going back for correction……..

    *Smores Deal
FOUR HERSHEY’S CANDY BAR 6-PACKS, on sale BOGO $4.99
FOUR HONEY MAID GRAHAMS 14 OZ, on sale BOGO $4.19
FOUR JET PUFFED MARSHMALLOWS 10 OZ OR LARGER, reg. price $1.79
Used four FREE Hershey’s Bar 6-pack when you buy Honey Maid Grahams 12.2-14.4 oz and Kraft Jet Puffed Marshmallows 10-24 oz Publix store coupons, Grocery Advantage Flyer (exp 5/27) – deducts $4.99 for each coupon in TRUE BOGO stores like mine
and used four $2/3 Honey Maid Grahams 14 oz or larger, Kraft Jet Puffed Marshmallows 8 oz or larger and Hershey’s Bar 6 ct coupons, 5/15 SS insert (regional)
NET PRICE FOR ALL: FREE + $2.44 MONEYMAKER!

    • Steve Pinski says:

Thanks! If your items ring up TRUE BOGO, you should definitely go back. There is no reference to the price $2.50 on your receipt. It should read something like
      $4.99
      $4.99
      Promotion -$4.99
      $4.99
      $4.99
      Promotion -$4.99

There are no $2.50 items if it rings up that way.

  4. I see people using target coupons at publix on a lot of these sites. My publix won’t take target coupons. Only food lion and food city.

    • Steve Pinski says:

Publix varies on which competitors they accept at each store, usually based on what other stores are in their proximity.

    • I have three different Publix not to far away from me and only one will take Target coupons. The other two take Winn Dixie and Save a Lot. Hey Steve just wondering why you guys don’t do Save a Lot? They take coupons and sometimes the stuff there is on sale at a really good price and coupled with a coupon its really cheap.

      • Steve Pinski says:

One problem with Save a Lot is that their ad flyers are only for small regions. The larger problem is mainly one of time. I’m the only one that works full-time on the site, even though we have a few people that work part-time on it.

  5. Amazing haul! Good for you. Love your website.

  6. I hope you still have your receipt (cuz I know how fast you throw it away LOL)…….but there is a $1.00 offer on Checkout 51 for the Honey Maid.

$1.00 when you buy 2 Honey Maid Graham crackers.

And did you have an offer for the Country crock (other than the 45oz size one)? That’s the only one I have. (btw – there was a $1.00 digital MQ for the Country Crock on Publix.com that could have replaced one of your $.55 off ones)

And there were $.75 MQ for the French’s mustard (in addition to the $.50 off ones) I used 4 with my transaction today.

My trip varied a little from yours. In addition to the Country Crock, Hellmans etc. deal, S’mores deal, Pedigree dog food, and only 2 Dulcogas…………..
    I got:
    – some Daisy cottage cheese – Checkout 51 offers (2 at $.75 and 2 $.50 off MQ – BOGO $2.99 – $2.50 = $.49 for two)
    – bought 2 Starbucks Iced coffee (2 @ $1.25 – $1,00 MQ – $1.00 Ibotta = $.50 for both)
    – Enjoy Life Choc Double Brownie cookies $4.99 – $.55 MQ – $1,00 Checkout 51 – $1.50 Ibotta = $1.94 ***but will be going back to Customer Service, as I didn’t notice that it rang up the wrong price. They were marked $4.49…..so I will get my $4,99 back***
    – 2 Hershey Milk Chocolate Caramel @ $3.99 each – $3.99 Publix Green Advantage coupon – 2 $1.00 MQ = $1.99

And used the $10.00 off $50 Publix coupon.

Total paid $2.49 and saved $133.24

    • Steve Pinski says:

I might still have the receipt in my desk. I’ll have to check. I didn’t get credit for the Country Crock on SavingStar. Also, I was too late on the Country Crock Publix digital coupon. I couldn’t find it when I looked before I shopped. It’s possible I missed it, but I couldn’t find it when I looked.

I was going to buy Daisy Cottage Cheese, but I couldn’t find the MQs I printed a while back. If I find them before the sale ends I may go grab a few tubs.

  7. Ann-Marie says:

Nice haul. My store severely restricts the deals. Only 1 deal of the country crock. They were out of Hershey bars, marshmallows. Got a rain check, even though they had the graham crackers, and only allow 1 deal. Also, out of the mayo and mustard, and this was around 10 am.

    • Steve Pinski says:

Thanks. I was there at store opening at 7 am. By the time I made it to checkout I had run into three other coupons, all of whom had the Smores deal already in their carts. Where I live now, I can’t mess around and wait on stuff.
