This coupon has (redeemable at Walmart) printed on it and it beeped when I was checking out. Just double checking but doesn’t it have to say “only redeemable at ______” to not be used at a different store? CVS would not take it since it beeped and said that on the coupon.

    • Steve Pinski says:

The CVS Coupon Policy states that they don’t take a coupon with another store’s logo. If it prints with the word Walmart, but no Walmart logo you’re technically ok. This is a regular manufacturer’s coupon and the store will be reimbursed. (If the coupon has some kind of text with the word “ONLY”, you are restricted to that store. For example, some manufacturer’s coupons may say “Redeemable ONLY at Walmart.”

I think I know why the coupon beeped and your cashier was probably either inexperienced or someone who hates coupons. Because the coupon is a coupon that gives you free items, CVS registers will beep to prompt the cashier to enter the coupon’s value. It is up to the cashier to calculate the value of the coupon and accurately input it into the register.

Thank you! I told her that’s why it probably beeped but she was new and the manager wasn’t available. She was new and it was a fairly new store. Appreciate the response!!
