CVS 5-15-16So today was a totally hot trip to CVS for me!  A profit on almost $150 worth of stuff?  YES PLEASE!!!  I am so excited to be getting the email coupons again!  And as usual, I put my Red Coupon Machine coupons to full advantage!

The transactions below are spread out across several different stores, so I wouldn’t take too much from any one store and leave some stock for others, because of this some of the prices may vary from one transaction to the next.

Just an FYI, I include my Beauty Club Extra Bucks on transactions I redeem them, (like this one) because I never think to count them on transactions that I earn them on.  And as long as I don’t count them twice, it all comes out in the wash, as they say.

  1. Hello! Did the coupons beep for the Colgate Total Repair? I had a newer (very nice) cashier who told me I was using too many coupons for the toothpaste (exactly same as yours above). Since I have a MORE than enough toothpaste at home I just removed from the purchase. I need to start splitting up my purchases so I can follow what’s going on at the register. I wish CVS register customer screens were more “user friendly’. I can’t tell what gets taken off until the purchase is done. They miss coupons about 100% of the time. Not complaining. Just wondering how folks deal with it. I generally sigh to myself and try to go about my day. Its never mentioned when these mistakes occur with you folks so I am wondering if they do… FYI: I am a VERY experienced couponer. Thanks for all you do. I have been following your blog for probably about as long as you have had it. 🙂

    • Wayland P says:

I didn’t have any problems with the Colgate. The Cerave was a beeper at both stores and interestingly, both cashiers blamed it on the BOGO 50%.

  2. Hi wayland, thanks for sharing your deal ideas, I noticed in transaction #1 you used $2/2 herbal essence coupon but there is no herbal essence in the transaction, either you forgot or I just can’t see properly. Thank you .

    • Wayland P says:

Fixed it. It was late when I wrote it up last night and trying to translate the stuff on the receipt from memory. (When all the items were upstairs.)

  3. My Thursday coupons ( $6/30, etc) have disappeared as well. Any strategy to getting them back?

    • Wayland P says:

They just popped back up a couple weeks ago. I used to get a new card every time they stopped. But this time they apparently came back on their own.

  4. Ken from Philly says:

Wayland, excellent shooping trip, gotta copy it, so….I didn’t get the math on:

FOUR CERAVE CLEANSING BARS, regular price $6.99
Buy one, get one 50% off (Deducted $7)
Get $10 in Extra Bucks when you spend $30 on $30 of CeraVe products, limit 1
    Used (4) $3.00/1 CeraVe Product – 5-15-16 SS (exp 07/31/16)
Used (1) $4/$14 Body Wash or Bar Soap CVS Coupon from the Red Coupon Machine
    Net Price: $4.96
Used (1) $5 Beauty Club Extra Bucks
    Net Price: $5 MONEYMAKER!!!

I got .04 MM as the $10 ECB was not triggered. ~$20.96 spent, $12 mfr coupons, $9 CVS coupons. With trans #4, $10 ECB triggers, and net MM on 6 Cerave is $5.86….Unless you’re holding back on a coupon/% off/$5/15, etc?

    • Wayland P says:

That’s not a total on the transaction. Those are separate pieces of the same transaction. Just like on transaction #2 I have the $6/$30 as a $6 Moneymaker.

    • Steve Pinski says:

Hahahaha he will laugh when he sees this, because I asked him about this same thing when I was confused last night.

Those are two separate things. The Beauty Club Extra Bucks is just him spending $5 of random Beauty Club Bucks they gave him that wasn’t accounted for when it was earned. It is a $5 moneymaker.

The CeraVe deal is completely separate. This transaction had $4.96 of cost for the Cerave. (They were $20.96 for four with the sale after discount minus $16 of coupons left him $4.96 to pay.) He then completed the Extra Bucks deal in a later transaction (scroll down.)

I hope that clears things up. He confused me too.

      • Rachael says:

The math on Tr#3 still doesn’t make sense to me even after the two extra explanations…

        Transaction #3:
        2 soda = free
        6 l’oreal = 17.96
        4 cereve = 4.96
        Total = 22.92
use $5 Beauty = 17.92 out of pocket
        earn $20 for l’oreal so $20-17.92 =2.08

for 2.08 total money maker on transaction #3 not $5 money maker?

Sorry if this should make sense, still trying to figure out how all of this stuff works

        • Wayland P says:

That isn’t the transaction total. Add each separate line that says “Net Price” and it will add up to the “Net Price Paid for Everything: $15.96 PROFIT!!!” at the bottom of the post.

        • Wayland P says:

See my reply below from Ken on the Transaction totals if that helps.

      • Ken from Philly says:

Not really, math is still off by $4.96 on Trans #3 CereVe, the $10/$30 CeraVe was counted once, in Trans # 4. That math is accurate, so the $10/$30 was counted 2x – $5 Beauty, or something. Read it–

        Net Price: $4.96
Used (1) $5 Beauty Club Extra Bucks
Net Price: $5 MONEYMAKER!!! [.04 MM]

Price at Register: $4.18, but got $10 in Extra Bucks
        Net Price: $5.82 MONEYMAKER!!! [TRUE]

Anyway, it’s still a 5 star shopping trip!!!! and I am waiting for those extra CVS coupons to juice it, usually get something by Thurs. I have a beauty club to burn, and Plenti Rewards just posted a 200 point offer on Persil 75 oz or larger (worth $2), so that is on sale at CVS, with coupons (I haven’t done math, but I think it is free or close to it with Plenti).

        Keep up the great work!

        • Wayland P says:

I didn’t put a transaction total on these. If you want them:

          Transaction 1: $1 MM + Free = $1 MM
          Transaction 2: Free + $2.99 + $0.50 MM + $6.51 MM + $2.98 + $6 MM = $7.04 MM
          Transaction 3: Free + $2.06 MM + $4.96 + $5 MM = $2.10 MM
          Transaction 4: $5.82 MM

  5. Is there something wrong with my account because it been very long time and I didn’t get any email from cvs for any coupons at all.

  6. Glad to know I’m not the only one who didn’t get a coupon last week. I thought it’s because I was out of town and didn’t use them for 2 weeks so they stopped sending them. I even wrote corporate to ask. I just got another one now for this week!! Yay!
