walgreens-021416I had a nice trip to Walgreens, but I made a BIG screwup. I didn’t remember to deduct off the store coupon from the Robitussin I bought when figuring out what I needed to qualify for the points deal. Since I only paid $3.99 after store coupon, my five items only totaled $19.95 and I did not get the 5000 Balance Rewards points for spending $20 or more.

I’m going to go back to the store tomorrow and fix this. I will return all five Robitussin items and repurchase them all, together with a sixth item. I will use a $3/1 Children’s Advil coupon on the sixth item. That will make the deal actually look like it is written up below, even though my picture only has five Robitussin in it. (I can’t believe I screwed this up! See…we make mistakes too!)

So…here’s what the trip looks like AFTER I fix my mistake…

ONE K-Y JELLY 4 OZ, regular price $6.79

Get 10,000 Balance Rewards points (value $10-$12.50) for buying $20 of K-Y (monthly unadvertised points deal through 2/27)
Used three $2/1 K-Y Product printable coupons (preclipped/zip 68130)
Price at Register: $15.37, but received 10,000 Balance Rewards points (value $12.50)
NET PRICE FOR ALL: $2.87 (or 96 cents each!)
***To change zip codes, go here and change your zip to the one listed with the coupon link above. Use the box on the right side of the page and enter your zip. Comments

  1. Could you buy both the KY and medication in the same transaction?

  2. I don’t think the ROBITUSSIN is of the buy 20.00 get 5,000 pts, is it? My paper only shows Airbourne Delsym and Mucinex! Thanks

    • Steve Pinski says:

I saw a picture of an in-store tag that listed a ton of additional products, including Robitussin. I definitely made a mistake, because after the store coupon I didn’t have $20.

  3. How do I print more thank one coupon to do these deals? Thanks

    • Steve Pinski says:

You can print most coupons two times per computer. We have three devices at my house, so I can get six prints of most coupons.

      • I’ve heard that some coupons can be printed via cell phone at this point, but I can’t figure out how to get mine to work. Any knowledge in this area?

        • Steve Pinski says:

I can’t get the coupons.com app to work on my phone, but most folks can. You need to have a wireless printer to print the coupons.
