cvs 8-23-15So this wasn’t the smoothest of trips this week to CVS.  A couple of deals that I wanted to do but couldn’t.  I unfortunately couldn’t find any of the Tena.  When I went to print the coupons for the Colgate deal I wrote about in the email matchup, they were already gone. 🙁  There were a couple of hiccups that you will read about below, but it all worked out in the end and I walked away with a profit. 🙂

So here’s how it went:

Transaction #1:

So for this first one, the label stated $1.99 or 2/$3.50 and $2.99 or 2/$5, so I figured if I had an odd number of the 90ct, it would all work out and I would end up at $19.99.  Come to find out, when you buy more than two, it keeps the lower price even if you have an odd number of items.  So I ended up at $19.50, not quite enough to reach the threshold for the second Extra Bucks Deal.

Transaction #2:

I hadn’t planned on a Transaction #2, but when I got out of the store and saw I had $19.50 towards the $20 for the CVS Oral Care deal and thus $8 instead of $16 Extra Bucks for that deal.  And worse than that, I was at $0.60 paid instead of a moneymaker for the week, this meant there had to be a transaction #2.  So I stopped at another CVS on my way home.  (There were other stops between these.)

ONE CVS DENTAL FLOSS 55YD, regular price $1.57

Before I continue, I paid the cashier for the floss and looked at my receipt…there were no Extra Bucks.  And my total for the CVS Oral care deal was still $19.50.  I laughed.  I was going to finish this deal.  I pointed it out to the cashier and said the only reason I bought the floss was I was $0.50 away from the Extra Bucks.  He manually printed the $8 in Extra Bucks for me.  So where were we, oh yeah:

  1. Every time I try to use 30% off coupon, they tell me I can’t use it because I’m receiving ecb. How is the best way to use them?

    • Wayland P says:

In that scenario, I would look for items with app rebates and/or high value coupons where you can get things for close to free.

  2. I don’t understand how you used the 30% to save $14.84. Can you explain this?

    • Wayland P says:

It only applies to the non-sale items. $19.50 for the CVS oral care + $29.96 for the Advil = $49.46. If you multiply that by 30% you get $14.84. 🙂
