cvs-080215I had a great trip to CVS today! It may not seem that great, but I’ve come to the conclusion that in the past two weeks or so, CVS has decided to cut off this card from the great store coupons because I’ve been saving so much. Because of this, I have decided it’s almost time to “lose” my CVS card again. Stephanie uses Prilosec almost every day, and this week’s deal is very good, so I decided to burn a bunch of my Extra Bucks on it. She also badly needed hair color (her words, not mine), so I picked up a few boxes even though it was a higher price than I like to pay for it.

I had $40 of Extra Bucks on me, plus I got another $5 Beauty Club Extra Bucks that popped out when I scanned my card at the Red Coupon Machine. Because the Beauty Club Extra Bucks were not reflected in the statistics of a previous trip, I have applied them to the final bottom line savings in the stats at the bottom of this post.

I actually did three transactions today, but I’m not going to break them down because the All Detergent deal will confuse people since I didn’t buy them all in the same transaction. Here’s what I bought, along with the coupons used:

TWO PRILOSEC OTC 42 CT, on sale $23.93 (regular price $28.99)
Get $5 Extra Bucks when you buy Prilosec 42 ct (limit 3)
Used one $5/2 Prilosec coupon, 7/26 P&G newspaper insert
Price at Register: $42.86, but received $10 total Extra Bucks
NET PRICE FOR ALL: $32.86 (or $16.43 each!)
***That’s a great deal for this product, but it still hurts!

SIX ALL LAUNDRY DETERGENT, on sale 2/$7 (regular price $7.29)
Get $0.50 cashback from SavingStar when you buy All Product
Get $5 Extra Bucks for buying $20 of select Household (including All Detergent; limit is AT LEAST two!)
Used six $1.50/1 All Product printable coupons *no size restrictions* (preclipped) – FYI prints with Walmart name but NO LOGO, so okay per CVS coupon policy
Price at Register: $12, but received $5 Extra Bucks and will get $0.50 from SavingStar
NET PRICE FOR ALL: $6.50 (or $1.08 each!)
FYI – There are also $1/1 printable coupons here.

Get $5 Extra Bucks when you buy $15 of Clairol Hair Color
Used one $5/2 Clairol Hair Color coupon, 7/26 P&G newspaper insert
Price at Register: $10.98, but received $5 Extra Bucks
NET PRICE FOR ALL: $5.98 (or $2.99 each!)

Those $5 of surprise Beauty Club Extra Bucks savings are reflected in the statistics below.

Total Retail Value of All Merchandise: $117.70
Net Price Paid for Everything: $40.34
Savings Rate (excluding tax): 65.7%

Extreme Couponing Tip: You can usually get two prints of most internet coupons. To find them in the easiest possible way, use our preclipped links that take you right to the coupon. Then come back and click the same link to get your 2nd print. This will save you the time spent searching for the coupon.

  1. Do you really think that they just quit giving coupons? I haven’t received anything at the red machine printer in weeks. Luckily my store allows expired CVS coupons or I would be lost. Should I get a new card then?

  2. RedPlum now has a $1/1 ALL product as well!

  3. CVS has cut me off too. Bummer. I keep hoping they’ll come back.

  4. Wow! I guess I should get a new card too. I haven’t gotten anything besides the bare minimum at the red coupon machine in MONTHS. Same goes for those emailed coupons. I figured that was strange. Ugh.

  5. I called and they said that they have been making technical changes to their system the past two weeks, so coupons have not been as available…and I never gave her any of my personal information, so maybe adjustments are just being made, because I have not received any coupons for the past ten days.
