cvs-072715We had a great trip to CVS on Monday! We had to run some errands and decided to stop in to use more Irish Spring and Speed Stick coupons. In case you didn’t know, the limit on that deal is higher than the advertised limit of two. The two deals we did below are the third and fourth ones on Stephanie’s card. Her receipt does not say the offer limit is reached, so you can do it AT LEAST five times!

Here’s what we bought, along with the coupons used:

TRANSACTION #1 – MY CARD
ONE COLGATE TOTAL ADVANCED MOUTHWASH 33.8 OZ, on sale $4.79 (regular price $6.99)
***Note: The ad says 33.8 oz is on sale, but the ones that ring up correctly without a price adjustment are the 16.9 oz bottles that are 100% extra bonus size ones. My price had to be adjusted by my cashier since my store did not have the correct ones in stock.
Used the $2.79/1 Colgate Rinse CVS store coupon, printing for everyone from Red Coupon Machine 7/26-8/1
and used one $2/1 Colgate Rinse 32 oz or larger printable manufacturer’s coupon (preclipped)
NET PRICE: FREE!

TRANSACTION #2 – STEPHANIE’S CARD
TWO IRISH SPRING SIGNATURE BAR SOAP 3 CT, on sale 2/$8 (regular price $6.49)
THREE SPEED STICK GEAR DEODORANT, on sale 2/$8 (regular price $5.29)
Get $10 Extra Bucks when you buy $20 of Speed Stick/Irish Spring (limit is at least FIVE!)
Used two $2/1 Irish Spring Signature coupons, 7/26 SS insert (if you don’t have these, there’s a $1.50/1 here)
and used one $2/1 Speed Stick Gear printable coupon (preclipped)
and used one BOGO Speed Stick Gear coupon, 7/26 SS insert
Price at Register: $10, but received $10 Extra Bucks
NET PRICE FOR ALL: FREE!

TRANSACTION #3
FIVE SPEED STICK GEAR DEODORANT, on sale 2/$8 (regular price $5.29)
Get $10 Extra Bucks when you buy $20 of Speed Stick/Irish Spring (limit is at least FIVE!)
Used one $2/1 Speed Stick Gear printable coupon (preclipped)
and used two BOGO Speed Stick Gear coupons, 7/26 SS insert
Price at Register: $10, but received $10 Extra Bucks
NET PRICE FOR ALL: FREE!

I paid nothing except sales tax out-of-pocket. Here are the final stats:

Total Retail Value of All Merchandise: $62.29
Net Price Paid for Everything: $0 (except tax)
Savings Rate (excluding tax): 100%

Extreme Couponing Tip: You can usually get two prints of most internet coupons. To find them in the easiest possible way, use our preclipped links that take you right to the coupon. Then come back and click the same link to get your 2nd print. This will save you the time spent searching for the coupon.

  1. Linda Marquis says:

Hi there, question is if you bought (2) irish spring on sale 2/8 and you used (2) 2/1 then that would still leave a $4 balance…..

    • Steve Pinski says:

Correct. In my deal I bought $20 of Speed Stick and Irish Spring before coupons. After coupons I owed $10. I paid $10 with previously ECBs. Then I only owed sales tax. Then I got $10 Extra Bucks back, which replaced the $10 ECBs I just used.

  2. Has anyone ever looked at their “my savings & rewards” online and had nothing listed at all?
This is the first time I’ve ever seen this.

  3. Timoree says:

Does deodorant count towards CVS Beauty rewards? I bought more deodorants than body wash in my transactions because my coupons were better, but I’m thinking I would have been better off buying more body wash because they will count towards Beauty rewards.

  4. Laurie, this has been happening regularly to many CVS cardholders. For two weeks in a row, I’ve gotten zero offers on my card when I checked the CVS website, although a few offers printed in store.

  5. Ok thank you. I’m stopping today so we shall see what pops outta the Redbox

  6. This started right after some states didnt have any sales a few weeks back(Mine was one), so who knows what is happening? I have to say that how CVS handled the whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth. I am not mad that they did it….but JUST choosing some states to not have any sales and NOT letting those states know in advance is just bad business practices.
