walgreens 5-10So Sunday was great for day me at Walgreens, not quite a moneymaker, but still got a ton of useful stuff.  If you’re paying close attention, you’ll notice two Snickers bars are missing.  I got hungry while driving all over the place looking for deals!  I’ve been racking up so many points over the last few months, I might need to figure out what presents I can get people from Walgreens when Christmas time comes around.  Nothing says “Merry Christmas!” like a stocking full of multivitamins right?

As usual, I’m including Balance Rewards at $1.25 per 1000 because I’ve been saving them for the big $50 rewards!  The transactions below are spread out across several different stores, so I wouldn’t take too much from any one store and leave some stock for others, because of this some of the prices may vary from one transaction to the next.

This Colgate Enamel Health Sensitive was labeled in my store that it was included in the Colgate register reward offer.  I was really excited because it was a moneymaker due to the Ibotta rebate. Unfortunately, it was labeled incorrectly.  Since odd things go on when you start backing out transactions with when points are involved, they gave me store credit for the Register Reward that didn’t print.  I told them not to worry about the $0.50 price difference as I didn’t want to attempt to change anything in the transaction and risk having the points booster fall through.

For this next transaction, I was only able to use one of the $2.00/1 Tide Pods coupons, because I had used the rest of them during Kmart Super Doubles. But this deal was still pretty sweet.  I might have been able to do better, but unfortunately, it seems like a lot of the tags for this deal monthly got pulled down.  (I only know the items I did because I was keeping an eye on them at each store I went to.)  The store I bought these at, had neither the Free & Gentle Pods nor the Fabric Refreshers marked.  =/

  1. Nice work! I have a question. I also racked up $50 in balance rewards and I am looking to spend them all at once but it’s really hard to. What do you suggest using them on? It would be nice to pair it with a sale that doesn’t require coupons or only use Walgreens coupons from the savings book. Thanks in advance!

    • Steve Pinski says:

I’m sure Wayland will chime in with an opinion, but I typically try to use my points in a week where we have a good sale on bottled water and a couple of nice Register Rewards deals that I want to do. A nice soda sale on 12-packs that doesn’t include points is also a good way to get to $50.

I’m guessing we will have a week like that around Memorial Day, since there are usually good soda/water deals around then.

  2. Points can be used online.
A few printer ink cartridges should do it.

  3. How do the Catalina things work?

    • Catalinas are always printed from those special Catalina machines at checkout. They print when triggered by certain purchases that you make. They’re typically from manufacturer’s but sometimes are store Catalinas (Target Store Coupon Catalinas print often.) In this case, Wayland used a previously earned Excedrin Catalina just as any other coupon towards the two bottles he bought 🙂

  4. Is the Playtex Sport BOGO coupon under a certain zip code? I can’t find it.. Thank you
