  1. How does the 5$ off 25$ break down on the receipt? Is it equal amount off/item or is it off the last item rung up…etc?

    • Steve Pinski says:

It takes off a pro-rated amount off each item. For example, if you buy $25 of items and use this coupon then 20% comes off each item. If you buy $50 and use this coupon then 10% comes off each item.

  2. I just got back from DG where I had a bad experience. We have a brand new DG in my small town that just opened, this was my first time in there using the $5/$25. I am a seasoned couponer who knows the ropes but never having shopped at DG with a threshold coupon, it was a test for me and probably them. Needless to say, the transaction did not go as planned. I bought $25.60 in product wanted to use $14.75 in MQs and the $5/$25 DG coupon which would have made my OOP $3.85 first transaction the girl scanned the DG coupon first and my total came up $6.23, voided it re-rang it with the DG coupon scanned last it came to $5.13 voided it because the girl said she could override one item to be the difference of the $5.13 and the $3.85 which I was fine with because then it would come to my $3.85 price, well it came to $9.92 when she hit payment. Have no idea why because by then there were people in back of me and that was the only check stand open. So I just left. What do I do now? Any ideas? I really want to shop there but not like this. Thank you.

I am not sure what happened in that case. Three different totals is crazy!
