walgreens-022714I had a pretty nice stop at Walgreens this morning. Monica told me about a rumor she heard that the Caress 1 ct bars on sale for $1 were triggering $1.50/1 Caress Product Catalina coupons that were rolling. I went and snapped a picture which you can see here. Basically, you pay $1 for the first one, but then every additional one you buy is free after the $1.50/1 coupon, plus you get another coupon to keep repeating the deal.

  1. Great shopping trip!
Love the Caress deal, except in my area when you present a Manuf Coupon that is over value they always reject it…I politely but firmly ask them to lower the coupon value to match the price, but most times it is a losing battle. Does Walgreen’s have a coupon policy when the coupon is valued greater than the product price? I’ve looked for a policy but have not found anything on this situation.

  2. Let me ask, so the catalina it is different than a Register Rewards, because if we use a RR to pay towards the same product who generate the RR we won’t be able to generate a RR again, it’s always a bit complicate for me in Walgreend because points, RR and now catalinas

  3. Hi Monica so on second transaction they will adjust it to a dollar am I correct or missing something?

    • Monica Bragg says:

They should adjust it to $1. If they refuse to adjust the coupon then ask them to adjust the price of the bar of soap up to $1.50 so the coupon will scan without problems. They actually adjust the price of the item up for me at my stores so we have no problems with them scanning.

  4. One store did that for me last week it just depends on if the employee knows the policy! In some cases the management don’t know it!

  5. You are right! Thanks

  6. Tracey Jennings says:

I went to my neighborhood Walgreens to try out this scenario. First off, the Glade product your Walgreens advertised for 3/$3 was not the same as what our Walgreens had, so I didn’t purchase that item. Secondly, the Caress body bar was on sale for $1, and I did get a catalina for $1.50. BUT when I went to do my 2nd transaction using it on the next bar of Caress, it wouldn’t allow me to use it because the coupon was for more than the price of the soap. I guess depending on where you live, they do things differently. Has anyone else run into that problem?

    • Monica Bragg says:

You should have price checked the Glade items because they are supposed to be on sale. As far as the Caress bar goes according to their policy they are supposed to take the coupon and adjust it to the price of the item. You may want to go armed with the policy next time so you can show them.

  7. If you see the preview for the Walgreens ad, it looks like they may be offering digital load to card coupons.
