I had a pretty good trip to CVS today. I decided not to try the Schick Shave Gel moneymaker; I thought that maybe the mistake would be corrected by now. Instead, I focused on the Nature Made MINIs moneymaker and the Hershey’s Simple Pleasures deal. FYI – If you need bathroom tissue, there’s a pretty nice Charmin deal. Monica did the deal (read about it here), but you may get even luckier, as some folks are getting a CVS store coupon for $2 off a $7+ Charmin purchase this week.
Here’s what I bought, along with the coupons used…

thanks for the info, was needing more cheap or free candy to fill a pinata
Hi. Did you have anything else in transaction #1? You would’ve had $3.71 in overage. Just curious!
I didn’t have any extra overage. I had $5.71 overage from the vitamins, but the Hershey’s cost $7 after coupons. So I paid $1.29, but then received $5 ECBs on the Hershey’s (for $3.71 profit.)
Oh ok! Thank you for explaining. I always put in the extrabucks I get back so I guess I was just assuming that on yours too. That’s why I was a little confused!
No prob.
Great, I’m soooo doing this transaction today! Thanks.
My CVS refused to let me use the 2nd $3 manufacturer coupon. They said I had too many coupons in relation to items being purchased and just kept insisting that the 2nd item is free so I can’t use the $3. It was quite frustrating.
If they are going to pull that crap, you need to start carrying their coupon policy with you. You are allowed to use the second coupon.
One store did the same to me and the manager even told me this was dishonest and she could get fired. I just left the store and vowed to never go back. I went to another CVS and it worked with no issues.
Go figure!
I guess so. I wouldn’t have even made much really as the only two bottles I could find were the multi vitamin at $14.79 or so.
Next time I see the manager, I’ll say something. You would cite this right?
CVS/pharmacy accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable CVS/pharmacy coupon(s) per item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
Unfortunately, every time I try to open the CVS coupon policy right now my browser crashes, so I can’t tell you exactly.
However, I believe there is a section about BOGO coupons in the policy. If you use your two MQ coupons first, then they don’t exceed the value of the item. I also don’t have the store coupon in front of me, but typically they state that the deduction does not come from the items purchased, but rather the total shopping order that includes the listed items. That suggests that overage is allowable if triggered by the store coupon, so long as your order total does not go negative.
Just looked at my receipt more closely. As I was expecting to use both $3 off coupons and was buying $50+ worth of stuff so I could use my $10/50, I had an end total in mind. However, they only had the expensive bottles and then threw me off by only allowing me to use one of the $3 coupons and so I thought my total was ok. However, I just realized that in addition to this issue they only deducted one of my $4 off dove soap coupons and instead must have scanned the $2 off body wash coupon twice! Ugh!
You know…If they are that crappy to you, I’d go do a return and make them even more miserable
Steve,
I have returned stuff to CVS when I use coupons, but I find that even more of a headache. Typically, they do not give me the refund for the coupons used- is that what they are supposed to to? I never know about that, because since they keep the coupons they are getting money from the manufacturer, right?
They should give you the full amount back, although part may be on a gift card.
I was just at CVS and left since I could not see how this would work since the vitamins were not $9.99 from your other post, there were the BOGO $15.29 vitamins which you purchased but I still do not see where the $6 moneymaker is? I had one $10 CVS coupon and two $3 off coupons which adds up to $16 off which would only be a .71 difference. I am confused?
It depends on the item you buy. There is a Vitamin B product that is BOGO $9.99. In my case, the store was out, so I bought the more expensive ones.
Also, the $10/1 coupon scans for $15 if you buy the more expensive ones, so you get $21 off when you use two manufacturer’s coupons on the $15.29 product.
Really? I did the more expensive deal last week but it only scanned for $10
still made it a moneymaker though. And now that I don’t have the $3/1 coupons anymore but still have a $10 CVS coupon, I can still do the BOGO deal and get 2 for free…also, my store only had 1 Mini B vitamin so I just bought another Nature Made vitamin of the same value and it still worked.
Two coupons may be used on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion
———————>as long as it does not exceed the item total<———————–MAYBE ITS BECAUSE OF THIS PART THEY REFUSED THE 2ND COUPON? Just a thought, maybe??
Schlick and skintimate are still printing steve
Do you know what´s the limit on Hershey’s Simple Pleasures deal? Can I buy 10 and get $10 EB? Thanks.
Limit is one. We only did the deal twice because my roommate and I are technically parts of different households and each have our own cards.
The limit is 2. I did one deal yesterday and got $5.00 back. On the bottom of my receipt, it was bought $15.00 and $15.00 need more. So I decided to do the second deal today.
I bought some items + 1 pouch of Simple Pleasures and at the bottom of the receipt, it said bought $18.00 need $12.00 more.
I did the second transaction in which I bought 4 Simple Pleasures for $12.00 and something else, but another $5.00 didn’t print.
On the bottom of receipt it said purchased $12.00 and need $3.00 more. I had to returned all of them and buy in one transaction all 5 for $15.00 and the second $5.00 printed out.
Schick and skintimate not printing at my stores in central florida (I tried one store, and my brother tried two others closer to his side of town). Also, your your mileage may vary on the nature made coupon…I could only find the multi-vitamins at the store I visited, and it only took off $10, even though the item was price $15.29. Still, I’m happy for vitamins I’ll use and $0.71 toward my coveted Tide with Downy (so impractical. But smells so heavenly!)
i live in Tampa and my CVS stores really vary on how they handle coupons. I drive past at least one store because they are never coupon friendly at the one right near my house. When i went sunday to do vitamin deal, they only had one mini bottle left, so they told me buy it and i will only charge you half price, but still took my 10 off and 3 off.
If they are not nice, I simply find another CVS to shop at, there are so many to choose from.
i have a 2$ off 3 bags of hershey’s valentine candy 8oz or more….. from the cvs coupon machine… can i use that for the herseys transaction???
Unfortunately, probably not. While the Simple Pleasures would make great candy for a Valentine, they are not specifically marketed as such.
The NM Mini Complete Multi are $15.79 at our local store. Prices sure vary & always higher here +9.25% tax! I had posted a few days ago on the “other connected site” that the CVS coupon deducted $15 when scanned. A nice surprise for sure. We only have 1 CVS in 18 miles so I try to be organized and cooperative when shopping there. Some clerks are nicer than others…Most hate returns and do not know how to operate CR to do them!
Went to CVS again and the register was only deducting $10 on the more expensive vitamins. Of course they did not have the less expensive ones since they only carry three types of minis and all $15 or more unless they were in another section of the store? Publix also out of Poise. Do they do this on purpose so everyones coupons expire?
How many times can the $10 vitamin deal be printed on the cvs website?
