I made another trip to a different CVS today to get the vitamin and P&G deal. I am super excited about this trip. I got to visit a CVS that I had never shopped at and had no problems whatsoever. That is always pleasant. I did all of this in one transaction because I needed the other items to soak up the overage I was getting from the vitamins.

I got the same thing except I got a $ 10 off $ 50 spend so my bill was a little less than yours..thanks for your scenario ..save a lot of $$$$ today l!!!
Dang Larry! I didn’t get any of those coupons from CVS that everyone is talking about! You made that an awesome moneymaker on necessities.
I can’t figure out how to get the $10 coupon for the vitamins on CVS site. can you explain where to go once i am on there site please.
When you click on the link, there will be a section that says “From our Partners” and there is a button that says “Print In-Store Coupon”. That is where the coupon is located. Don’t forget you will need to have other items in your purchase as well that is equal to or more than $6.01 or they won’t take your coupons.
As a new couponer (one month) I follow your website so I can find the best deals and I was so excited when this deal came along. It was going to be my first big money maker deal. And now I am so disappointed. My cvs sells the vitamins for 14.49 or 15.49 while still a money maker not the great deal everyone else got. Not sure if I did something wrong or if prices are just that much higher in FL. Anyway the rest of the deals all worked out so Thank You for posting them.
Don’t be disappointed Tracey. You still got a moneymaker. The prices in parts of FL can run higher we have seen. Steve lives down there in St. Pete but his area seems to run pretty close to the same prices as I see up in N. AL. I hope that you have better luck on the next big moneymaker. I miss alot of them because the coupons come out and are gone by the time I get home from work. So we all win some and lose some. It is part of the couponing game.
Thanks Monica…..and on the plus side the cashier was really helpful as was the manager. Since this was my first time ever in a CVS (they dont have one in the part of tx I am from) the cashier took the time to explain how the card works and all about the coupon machine and how to read my receipt and how the rewards work even though there was a huge line behind me. All in all it was a good trip.
You’re welcome Tracey. I am glad that you had a good experience and they were so helpful.
I am also new to couponing started last month, I love this website and keep up with it and all the great deals available. I did this cvs deal today but the savings star part did not work for me. It showed still $0 toward my $20 total. I have my cvs card linked to my savings star account, would you have any idea as to why this did not work? Thank you
It took two days for it to show on my Savingstar account. I just got an email this morning telling me that the $5 had been posted and went shopping on Sunday. I am pretty sure that you will get it but if not I would definitely contact Savingstar.
Ok, ill give it a few days and see what happens. I thought maybe it goes as soon as you buy the item. This is my first try with Savings star as well.. Still learning everything
Thank you
No problem. I have never had any problems with Savingstar.
I’m new to couponing and my mom gave me her $10 ECB from the Charmin deal yesterday so I could get started. I purchased 4 Charmin, 2 pantene shampoo & 1 box of tissues that were all included in the Charmin deal. I handed the cashier the $10 ECB and he handed it back to me and I was told I could not use it because the $10 ECB was from another card and he would not accept it (this was the store manager). I was beside myself and paid a lot of money out of pocket and proceeded to my car. I looked at my receipt and saw that I was approx $1.50 short from hitting $30 to get my OWN $10 ECB. I went back into the store to find the correct tissues and checked back out. I asked the manager who was still ringing up customers if I had the correct box of tissues to get my $10. He said yes and when my receipt printed out, he said “Wow, here is your whopping $10 back”. Also the store did not have any of the pantene shampoo/conditioner stating what the sale price is and none of the charmin deals had tags stating that they were part of the Charmin deal. I was very frustrated and annoyed and will never go back to that store ever again. Shouldn’t the store have tags on ALL products that are in the store’s flyer and on sale? Can someone tell me what the policy is for using ECB from another person’s card. My mom was bummed when I called her and told her that I couldn’t use her $10 ECB that she gave me to help me get started with saving money and couponing!
All ECBs are tied to the card, so the cashier was correct (albeit rude.)
Don’t let someone discourage you because they are a jerk. Also, although I agree that the store should tag everything, the best way to know if something is included is to pick up one of the ads and make sure the items you are buying match with the descriptions in the ad.
Don’t worry – this will get less frustrating as you learn more and get more comfortable.
Thanks Steve! When I grabbed the tissues, someone stocked the wrong item where the tag was. No big deal, I’ll just try another store. Thanks for the clarification of the ECB’s. I thought you could use them for any card. My mom was just trying to help me out to cut the cost of a good deal today. Lesson learned! I’m so excited about couponing and saving money, especially on products like TP, since we go through it in my household.
Well good luck and feel free to ask any questions along the way. Myself, Monica, Naomi or one of our readers will be happy to assist!
Where do I post if I found a great deal that I don’t see mentioned anywhere that I want to share?
You can email me at contact@couponaholic.net or you can post a comment on a post about that store and we will see it. You can also go over to our sister site, http://www.couponshoppingclub.com, and post on the forum there.
I sent the email yesterday afternoon! Excited to share my savings!
Tried to do the minis deal using $10 CVS coup and 2 $3/1 man. coup (BOGO was 15.49) but the cashier would not allow me to use both $3/1 coups! Ended up having to use $2 ECB and paying .31 for the minis. Not bad, but angers me when I see others were allowed to use both $3/1 coups.! I had other items but cashier would not even try to scan the coupon.
Sorry Rita. It would have scanned with no problem of course. Technically they are not supposed to allow them to exceed the price of the item so the cashier was unfortunately right but I can understand that it would make me disappointed to see everyone else that is able to do it but I couldn’t.
