  1. I have a q do the staple rewards work like ecb at cvs…. And what’s the easy rebate… TIA

    • Hopefully someone who shops regularly at Staples can fill us in. I think I know the answer, but I don’t want to risk misleading you.

    • Staples rewards are store credit, you have to get at least $10 worth of rewards to collect them, and they are issued via e-mail to you the next month (for example, I got $22 + Staples rewards on 12/13/2012 for the shopping I did on Black Friday (batteries). You have 1 quarter (3 months) to use them. I do not believe you can roll staples rewards with more staples rewards, BUT
you can roll staples rewards with Staples easy rebates. They are very easy too. when you get home you get on the website, tell them the register receipt # and the rebate # and give them your info, and they will either give you a paypal deposit or send you a check in the mail with your rebate. I have done this numerous times (especially around school time) I have gotten loads of free paper, pencils, pens, photo paper, markers, well, you get the idea.

NOTE – any manufacturer coupons you use towards a rebate of any sort will lower your rebate amount. so there is no such thing as “better than free”. The coupons basically lower your out of pocket cost. And you have to get their card, but its free and well worth it.

I get the paper for free (over 4 cases so far) which comes in very handy for coupon printing (and donations to very happy school teachers) and use the staples rewards for the easy rebate items and/or ink for my printer (if there arent any easy rebates available and the rewards are going to expire)

Good Luck if you decide to check it out!

      • Thanks for explaining everything, Melissa :)

Also to note with the staples rewards card you will get 10% back on all ink and paper and $2.00 back for every empty cartridge that you turn in.

  2. MauraFlorida says:

I did the Duracell battery deal a month ago (buy a 16-pack for $14 and get 100% back in Staples Rewards, limit 2). I bought two battery packs and used a $4/2 manufacturer’s coupon. The cashier said the coupon would reduce my Staples Rewards, and I said that was okay because I wanted to lower my out-of-pocket cost. I also bought another item for $7 on the same receipt that I did not have a coupon for. I should have received $24 in Rewards because I used the $4 battery coupon, but I received the full $28 in rewards for the batteries a few weeks ago via email (the Rewards came in the form of an $18 printable coupon and a $10 printable coupon that printed on the same page). I am guessing that the extra $7 item threw off the calculation because the Staples Rewards computer program could not tell whether the coupon used during that transaction was used for the batteries or the $7 item.

I just used those Rewards coupons on Monday to buy four reams of Hammermill paper @ $6.99 each. The paper total was less than $28 because I used the $5/$25 in-ad coupon. The cashier scanned the $18 and $10 Rewards coupons, and the remainder printed as a $5.04 coupon at the end of a receipt (just like a CVS ECB). The $5.04 coupon says it must be redeemed in full and expires on February 28.

I submitted the four reams for the easy rebate ($5.99 per ream), and so far, the rebate site says “validation in process” for a check for $23.96. I am waiting to see if the in-ad coupon will reduce the rebate amount.
