I have some good news and some bad news on the hot Walgreens Chex Mix deal. The Register Reward didn’t print for me, even though the ad at my store had it listed. However, the Catalina machine spit out some info about this promotion. According to the printout I received with my other Register Reward, this deal does not start until Monday, 9/3/12. However, the deal is potentially better than previously thought:

Not sure I want to even try Walgreens again. I tried last week a few deals that were laid out for me and every one of them didn’t work correctly and I had the manager telling me you can’t do this or that. I offered to show her Walgreens coupon policy and eventually she rescanned stuff and realized it was THEIR computers not printing things correctly HOWEVER… my shopping took me about five minutes. I was in line (only person to start) and dealing w/the manager for 45 minutes.

Hmmmm bizarre. Well my store hooked me up anyways. The cashier asked me if I’d like to return them and when I said yes, she said she’d just give me a Register Reward. I was expecting $1, but she scanned two more Scope and gave me a $3 RR, so it turned into a $1.50 moneymaker just from great customer service. Of course, I don’t think P&G would be too happy about that.
I got the RR today in Tampa.

Steve, you seem to have a very cooperative store/cashiers at Walgreen’s compared to the 3 stores in my area… They just say “you can’t use these” when coupons don’t scan and tell me total w/o coupons. When RR don’t print, they tell me to go to cosmetics desk where I usually have to wait from 15 to 30 minutes for a manager. The managers are nightmares to deal with and I also believe it’s too much hassle/time to go there very often. CVS is much more customer friendly, but seldom has anything in stock. I was in retail management for years and can’t believe the way most businesses are run these days with poorly trained, rude staff.
Yeah, I am very fortunate with the cashiers at the stores where I shop. Looking back, I probably should have declined the $3 RR and just taken the Chex Mix for 50 cents each, but she was insistent.
BTW, after looking over the Catalina coupon, I see no mention of Gardetto’s or Bugles. Perhaps they are not included, even though the printed Walgreens ad says otherwise.

The reward did not work for me either, so I wanted to know why. The cashier called the manager and he determined it was because one of the Chex mix had 20% more and made the bag over 10 ounces instead of the original 8.75. He was very nice and just refunded me a $1. lol.
Didn’t work fr me in Myrtle Beach, SC but I called a manager and he gladly gave me a $1 RR. They know me there by name by now!
My Walgreens is amazing. I’ve never had a deal not work and they’ve always worked as many times as I want. I just bought 30+ Chex Mix (I will be giving them out to children in underprivileged schools, and using it as a way to try to get the students to bring in Box Tops). The RRs printed fine when I bought 3x chex mix, but they wouldn’t print if I bought any of the Gardetto’s or the Bugles. No problem, though! The manager asked which didn’t print and I showed her the ad. 2 seconds later she rang up a fake transaction of 3x Chex Mix and gave me the RR. She did it twice, since two of my transactions included non-Chex Mix items. I think I did like 15 transactions total and the cashier/manager were more than happy to help me. I also ordered some Pure Protein bars since my store was out and got a rain check for them as well.
My CVS is great as well. I’ve gotten every deal I’ve ever wanted from there, although the staff is not as friendly as the Wags staff.

True here in Leesburg, FL, also. CVS is much nicer than Walgreen’s, but they have very little on their shelves and you have to get there early to get the deals. When their trucks come in on Thursday, they still have nothing on the shelves especially if you are going to get the product free using a coupon. I constantly check as it is on the way to my daughter’s school. It takes a long time at Wags, but you can’t beat some of the deals they have, although I hear it isn’t going to last much longer as they are coming out with a RR card and there will be limits on how many deals you can get.
Bought 6 Chex and used (6) .50 off 1 coupons. Total was $3.00 and received $3.00 RR in return. Score!
My son got a printout of that deal at Krogers also so I was holding my coupons for Kroger. I want to try the new ones they came out with.
Worked for me at two different stores in FL. I was very happy to get the 20% bonus bags for 16 cents each.
The three wags stores I deal with we’re terrible on everything until about three months ago when there own ad made them have to price adjust. Now all is good thanks Steve for the heads up on forcing the issue back then! Remember the carefree?

I got 5 bags today for free I used one .50 off two bags and three .50 off one chex mix then i used a $3RR from the Crest and got them for free. I did two identical transactions and got 10 bags for free. My kids will love these.
