We had a pretty good day at CVS. We love Purex Crystals and we are willing to pay some money for them if we have a BOGO sale and a coupon, so that increased our costs quite a bit. We also stocked up on hair products; even though Stephanie has a huge stash right now, the family looters are about due to circle the house soon, so now we’re set. Here’s what we bought, along with the coupons used:

and used one $1/1 Dove Men+Care Body Wash manufacturer coupon, 7/29 RP newspaper insert

We paid very little out-of-pocket (less than $1 plus sales tax on each transaction) because we had a ton of Extra Care Bucks to use. We could have spent a lot less, but we really wanted to load up on the Purex Crystals since we were down to just two unopened bottles at home.

Total Retail Value of All Merchandise: $118.55
Net Price Paid for Everything: $16.22
Savings Rate (excluding tax): 86.3%

  1. Maybe it’s just me, but it takes me a few mins to figure out how much you paid for each item because of the way you list the coupons. I would love you to list each item, coupon used etc..then amount of item, like Monica does it :) love your website!!! Thanks for the awesome deals :)

    • OK. I do that with the Publix trips I post, but I’ll start doing the drugstores that way too so it is easier to understand.

  2. My transaction was very similar. As I was in CVS getting all my coupons organized and set in different transactions, the CVS cashiers were commenting on all of the shampoo everyone was buying and what everyone was going to do with it all. (The average was 14 bottles per customer ROFL). I couldnt help but laugh.

    • You know, I can’t keep enough of it around. Everyone else in the fam has a full head of hair. I’m the only (almost) bald one, although my dad’s hair is pretty thin too.

      • AshleyAshley says:

I have the opposite problem, my family is all out of state so when I start feeling like a hoarder I generously gift to people at work. They probably think I’m crazy.

  3. I had a great trip to CVS today also; got 3 Simple facial products and 2 pricey Cover Girl foundations. Used several CVS red machine coupons and combined with printable manufactorer coupons; paid $12 out of pocket but got back $8 in ECB; can’t beat that for $50 worth of product. BTW, the $3 Simple Moisturizing Product printable coupon worked for the less expensive Moisturing Face Wash which was $7.49 compared to the Moisturizing Lotion that is $12.99.

  4. question: I have cvs red machine coupons for $3 off $15 claiber stationery. How many can you use in one transaction for the stationery? Anyone know, or has anyone utilized them yet?

    • u can only use it once

    • AshleyAshley says:

I’ve gotten two prints of those so I would say you can use each one once. Try scanning your card again in a day or two to see if the machine gives you another.

      • I’ve gotten this coupon every day for two weeks it’s making me nutty because there are very few decent deals at cvs for caliber stationary. And ditto 40 cents off two large dove choc bars. Ugh.

        • You are not kidding about those two coupons! I thought I was being gas-lighted with them!

  5. Does any one know if you can use more than one CRR for the Con Agra rebate? This time the form doesn’t state that it has to be all on one CRR.
    Thanks, Phyllis

  6. I had a tremendous day yesterday at CVS too…22 Pantene products, 1 box of Zantac & a pack of gum – Total OOP: $6.72 but got back $3.00 ECB (for the Zantac) and now I’ll send off for 2 – $5 Rebates for P & G products!

  7. charlotte says:

i wish my store would let me use the expired cvs coupons but they dont. :(

  8. Thanks, I love the shopping trips, especially to CVs and Walgreens. On another topic, the coupons from the red CVS coupon machine this week have been really terrible. I usually get the great coupons from that machine, but not this week!
