Does anyone else have problems printing coupons from smart source? It keeps saying i don’t have java but I followed their steps and downloaded it and still couldn’t get it to print. Any suggestions?

  2. Printing Smart Source coupons can be a huge pain, in my opinion. I can usually get them to work eventually, though. It sounds like Java is probably installed, but not enabled on your browser.

Here are the instructions on how to enable Java for several web browsers (I got these from Java’s website. I haven’t tried using the instructions myself, but hopefully they’re clear and they work):

    Internet Explorer
Click Tools and then Internet Options
Select the Security tab, and select the Custom Level button
Scroll down to Scripting of Java applets
Make sure the Enable radio button is checked
Click OK to save your preference

    Firefox
Start Mozilla Firefox browser or restart it if it is already running
At the top of the browser, select the Firefox button (or Tools menu in Windows XP), then Add-ons
The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
In the Add-ons Manager tab, select Plugins
Click Java (TM) Platform plugin to select it
Click on the Enable button (if the button says Disable, Java is already enabled)

    Chrome
Click on the wrench icon, then select Options.
Select Under the Hood and then Privacy Content Settings.
The Content Settings panel will appear.
In the Plug-ins section, select the Disable individual plug-ins link to check whether Java is enabled
Click on the Enable link (if the Disable link appears, Java is already enabled)

Here are the instructions on how to enable Java for Safari (if you use a Mac):

Step 1: Make sure Java is enabled under Safari > “Preferences” > “Security” tab > Check “Enable Java.”
Step 2: Go to “Applications” > “Utilities” folder > Launch “Java Preferences” application. Under “General” tab, check the box that reads, “Enable applet plug-in and Web Start applications”.

If that doesn’t work, I would suggest just trying a different web browser. I’m not sure which one you’re using now, but sometimes that can make a difference. Also, if you’re a Mac user, be sure to use Safari (I never use Safari for anything else, but I still keep it around just for the SS coupons). I think I’ve been able to use Chrome to print SS coupons on my Mac sometimes, too, but I can’t remember.

Hope that helps! Good luck getting your coupons!

  3. P.S. Right after I posted that, I was able to print a Smart Source coupon on my Mac using Firefox (rather than having to use Safari). So, I guess that goes to show how random they can be…

  4. Has everyone forgotten about the awsome deal on cortaid??!! Use the $1/1 Walgreens coupon stacked with the manufacturer’s coupon and pay 99cents +get the rebate. The $1/1 are in the first aide Answers booklet I found them back in (i think may or june) so if they’re still hanging around your store use that as well!! Awsome Deal!
