We all know what the ad looked like this week. BLAH!!! I had a register reward that was going to expire 7/12 so I had to shop for something this week. I am COMPLETELY out of printer ink so I figured I would try out the refillable ink and use my register reward to lower my out of pocket expense. It works fabulous, so even though I had to waste a register reward this week at least I got something I really needed! So here is what I got…

ONE REFILLABLE INK – regular price $15.99
ONE IVORY 3PK BAR SOAP – on sale $.99 (regular price ??)
ONE CARAMEL – regular price $.39
used one $1/1 Ivory or Safeguard Personal Cleansing, excludes Ivory Dish and Laundry PG 07/01
Price at register: $16.37

I used $14 in Register Rewards from previous transactions to lower my out of pocket expense!

I hate losing Register Rewards, so bought 3 Zantac and 1 Tums Refreshers – cost me $14 in RR, $16 in MQs, (and $2+ OOP) and got back $10.

My local Walgreens is pushing certain items, like Huggies wipes – 2/$2, and Cutter spray 2/$2. Used some MQs to get these pretty cheap!

    • Me too Shannon…I really needed printer ink though so I don’t feel like it was a total loss.

      • cookinmom says:

Don’t forget you can use them at Publix!

        • I have seen where others have done this but this is not something that I have tried yet. I will have to keep that in mind in the future and see if my store will allow me to.

my hubby has been buying the printer refill since we started couponing, it is easy andyou save tons of money. Just recently we bought a brother laser printer the coupons come out so much clearer and we also bought the refill kits to do it ourselves and save tons too. :)

    • I have switched to a Brother Toner Printer, and have found an extreme amount of savings vs ink..I refill it myself for less that $15.00 and get 2000+ copies. Was worth the inital purchase price, I used my staples rewards from all the INK I had been purchasing. :)

      • That’s funny that you mention the staples rewards because I was thinking about the rewards that I was going to lose now because of refilling myself but I really think it is going to be worth it. It had 4 vials of ink and I am thinking about how much 4 cartridges would have cost me. $100 vs $24 ($16 + $8 from the four cartrides I could have turned in). So I guess technically I did save myself a ton a money at Walgreens today. LOL!! Gotta get those savings wherever we can.

  3. I have heard that Wags is going to a card in September and doing away with register rewards. Their sales are terrible lately. I usually have lots of RR’s to flip every week but are losing all of them slowly but surely. I wonder if they are doing this on purpose just before RR’s go away? I took advantage of the Nivea deal, EOS shave cream and toothpaste just to flip some. Looked at the upcoming weeks and they don’t look good either. Wags was always good to me. These ads make me sad :(

  4. Walgreen’s never has the RR deals in stock in my area. Since they don’t manually print a RR with a raincheck (like CVS does), I’ve pretty much quit shopping there. I did do the Bayer $10 RR on $20 last week?…. and used it at Publix for groceries last night. Walgreen’s is such a pain to deal with at my store… Poorly trained clerks, not friendly, & don’t accept RR w/o alot of hoopla. I always had to wait 10-15 minutes at the photo center too. They’ve got to be losing business if other stores operate this way!
