I didn’t know you could use up & up Target coupons at Publix. Is that all Publix?
According to the Q&A on their policy here is what Publix says…Q: Will Publix accept a competitor’s coupon for a private label item? A: Yes, this is an opportunity for us to introduce our customer to Publix brand products. Hope this helps!
what’s for dinner? vegetarian pantyliner tacos with a side of aspirin?
That was great. If I could say one thing that I love about couponing it is that I love not having to plan meals before shopping anymore, the bread won’t even last until the next sale in this house.
This is the funniest thing I have ever read!
I thought you used a lot of Bayer coupons on a previous trip and now you have another ten for this trip. Did you buy that many newspapers (10+) to get the Bayer or did you order them? If you buy that many papers or pay for them on-line, I would like to know if you figure out how much you spend on coupons vs. what you save each month. Just wondering.
I do get 10 papers delivered to my house each week (not to mention the ones that are given to me by friends and family). But I did buy 30 more Bayer coupons from Ebay and spent less than $5 for them so in the end it payed off in this trip alone and I still have 20 more. I won’t purchase additional coupons for anything that is not a GREAT deal or a moneymaker. I have never actually sat down and figured out my cost vs savings, but the papers that are delivered to my house average $40 a month and I rarely purchase additionals unless they are going to pay off. Having said all that I typically don’t spend more than a couple dollars when I go to the grocery store so if I average $75 a month in coupon cost and grocery store runs I think that is pretty good. Of course all of these figures are guesstimates.
Congratulations!! Your deals are terrific!! Have not tried using the Target Up & Up coupons yet!!
At least in one of the stores I rarely shop at, (most of them are nice)
,I will need to buy the Bayer aspirin and pass them around in order to keep their blood pressure down if I decide to use the Up & Up coupons!!
That’s hilarious Gladys and thanks.
Great deal! Wish we had a Publix here. All you need now is some pasta sauce and meatballs to go with the Texas Toast. No pasta needed.
Could you please post a link to the Publix Coupon Policy? Thanks!
Here is the link to their coupon policy. Publix coupon policy
Thanks!
No problem.
Hi Monica, thanks for the post. I’ve been looking for some Bayer coupons on ebay but haven’t had any luck finding some reasonably priced ones — I was wondering if you could email me the name of the seller who you got your coupons from? No worries if not. Thank you!
I use kakesbykecia quite often. I have made several purchases from them, they seem to have very reasonable prices. Hope this helps!
The Save-A-Lot coupon states “Limit one per person or household”. How do you justify using 2 of those coupons?
The Publix I use doesn’t have a problem with this. This may vary for others. Each time I go back to my Facebook account and pull up the Save-A-Lot page it allows me to print more coupons and the expiration date rolls with the new print.
Just FYI…. My Publix currently won’t accept Target coupons for anything (even tho they’re in the next shopping center). Apparently, each Publix gets to decide what competitors’ coupons they want to accept.
I really liked this site at first because it was local and seemed to focus on grocery coupons. Now it just feels like extreme couponing, buying a ton of stuff you don’t need to get money makers. Good for some, but for me it just feels abusive, so I’ll move on. When you unsubscribe, it often asks why, so there it is.
No prob; you’re entitled to your opinion. That said, each household has their own unique needs. I don’t see what’s so bizarre about Monica’s trip. She bought some moneymakers so she could get the Texas Toast for free – which she didn’t even have a coupon to use on the product.
And take a look at the other trips that get posted by me and the other writers. In particular, look at the Publix shop that I will be posting shortly. I saved (only) about 80% this week, but I got a great deal on hummus (that I love), almondmilk that I need now (even though we sometimes see better deals) and Splenda that I use every day. And because we use green bags on our produce and we stockpile meat a few times a year when we have sales (and sometimes overrage to apply), I’m able to get the items I need and keep my bill low.
And look at the trips posted by Naomi and Carlos last week. Naomi buys a lot of organic items and Carlos gives the perspective of someone new to using coupons. Their savings rates will be lower, but that’s mainly because they shop differently.
First, I would like to say that I apologize if my trip has offended anyone. I do use moneymakers to reduce my out of pocket expenses alot. Maybe I haven’t revealed enough about myself for you to understand my shopping habits. I am a single mom that works two jobs and tries to supply her son with the food and all the other necessities that life brings. Through couponing (extreme or not) I have found a way to reduce our grocery bill to allow for other activities such as his sports that I would not otherwise be able to afford.
Second, I agree that is a lot of Bayer aspirin that a household of 2 cannot possibly use but one of the other things that you all do not know is that my other full time job is working in a doctor’s office where we advise almost all of our patients to take a low dose aspirin. Maybe this aspirin isn’t being used in my house but it is going somewhere that is very close to me.
Third, I have been couponing for a while now and I have alot of things already stocked in my house that I don’t “need” to buy which is why my shopping trips are not meant to make meals but to buy the items that we do need. Unfortunately we can’t know what everyone out there needs in order to produce a shopping trip that makes everyone happy and supplies everyone’s needs. Our trips are posted and are meant to take what you can from our experiences and shopping trips and apply it to your trips in a way that is suitable to you and your needs.
Fourth, How many other sites offer a picture of everything purchased along with the EXACT coupons used to make that purchase? From what I have found there really isn’t alot.
With all that being said I hope that some of you are able to find something useful and helpful to your needs in the shopping trips posted.
Well said
You know, I felt the exact same way Doug did, but I’m glad you did go out of your way to explain yourself. It did seem kinda like some extreme/ hording type stuff that gave the wrong impression. But between this site and IHP, I have both learned and saved a ton!
Thank you for your honesty. I am still learning what to “share” and what to keep private being that I am in the public’s eye. My store’s limit is 10 items (whether they are on sale or regular price) so you will often see me purchase items in increments of 10 since I also get the same amount of papers delivered to my house.
