  1. Is that a single bar of soap, or a few bars do you know? Thanks =)))

    • Sorry, I should have been clearer. It is the 3bar pack from what I have found. I haven’t been to Walgreens yet myself.

    • coupon girl says:

I just went to Walgreens and I was told the value of the item had to be greater than the coupon. The soap was .99 and coupon was $1.00. I was not allowed to use coupon.

Please advise how this works @ Walgreens so I will know for future visits. Thank you

      • They need to adjust the price of the item up to $1.00 or manually enter the coupon for $.99. I have had different stores do different adjustments but I have never been denied because the price was less than the coupon. If they are on the new registers, once everything is rung up in the purchase and all the coupons are scanned that you are using (including register rewards) then they will need to put in the Ivory soap coupons manually by hitting “payment”, “manufacturer coupon”, and then entering the price for the coupon. Note, once they manually enter any coupons they can no longer scan any other coupons including register rewards which is why you want all of those scanned first.

      • Here is a little more fuel for the fire when you go up against them again. This is the direct link to their coupon policy. I would print it out and take it with me. It is very hard for them to argue when you have the policy in your hand and are showing them the policy that they defined. This an excerpt under “Sale items” from the policy.

**In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.**

Hi Steve & Monica, didn’t realize you already posted this so disregard the email. My store had a TON of this soap. I got 9 packs but they only let me use 8 coupons. So I paid 1.45 including tax. I’m thinking if I would have gotten a cheap filler item, my last coupon would have worked. Oh well, not sure if it’s the new registers there or if the lady didn’t know how to adjust the coupon. Still a good deal.

    • The last coupon should have been adjusted to 91 cents. Of course, you were lucky to be allowed to use eight of them. Since this was in the P&G insert, it should have some fine print that limits you to four coups.

you are right I forgot about that. I could have done 2 transactions but there was a long line and only one register open :/
