CVS 7/8 – Profit $3.09 on $55.49 of Merchandise (105.6% Saved)

I had a great trip to CVS today. Originally I was not planning on using my $5 off $30 CVS coupon, but then I decided to take a chance when I heard that the max value of $9.49 was coming off automatically for the BOGO Head & Shoulders coupon. So I revamped my scenario to test this out and it worked out to perfection. I also received a $2/1 Nature Made Vitamins CVS store coupon from the Red Coupon Machine today which helped since the cheapest vitamins at my store were $5.49.

I did only one transaction and here’s what I bought, along with coupons used:

  1. glad to help out!!

  2. I almost forgot about the bogo head and shoulders. I have 4 of those! I’ll be working it in with the Wisk instead of my earlier scenario! Thanks.

Why does the nature made beep and what should I do if it does?

    • It just beeps because some registers do not seem to care for PDF coupons. You may want to take a few $1/1 coupons from the 6/3 SS newspaper insert (they expire today, 7/8) just in case they give you any trouble.

I have a question, I was lucky enough to find the last 2 Nature Made Vitamin D’s and they were clearanced at 75% off making them $3.44 each – I used the 2/$2 off NM coupons plus the $2 CVS Coupon but I didn’t get the 2nd one free. Does CVS have a policy that you don’t get the free item from BOGO on clearanced merchandise? I’m not complaining, paying 88¢ for 2 bottles of vitamins is great – but the overage it created would have helped with my total at the end.

    Thanks!

    • I’m not sure. I can’t remember trying to buy a clearance item that should’ve been BOGO.

  5. Just got back from CVS, worked perfectly! I even used 1 ECB going out of date and paid .91!

  6. Think there would be a problem if I bought 4 of the Head and Shoulders and used 2 of the BOGO coupons in the same transaction? I want to get 4 of the H&S and 2 of the Purex packs, but don’t want to have seperate transactions if I can help it.

  7. hello, question re CVS Q. I got that 3/15 (heathcare) Q printed from facebook, and i also received 5/10 vitamins (no specific brand), do i need to have a total $25 in order for me to be able to use both Q..? or is it ok if i’ll use both of them as long as vitamins is worth 10$ and total will be at least $15? thanks in advance :)

    • You probably need $25 total, but CVS is kind of quirky. You may be able to get by with $15.

  8. WOW You are soo lucky with the Bogo head and shoulder coupon coming off as 9.49. I seen my cashier scan my coupon and I did see on the screen it said 9.49 coupon but the cashier caught it and then voided that amount off and put in $5.99 coupon. UGH sooo jealous!

    • Yeah, it’s going to depend on the cashier. I didn’t think the one yesterday would let it slide, but she saw it automatically go in for $9.49. Then she said “I’m not sure what’s up with that” and then scanned the rest of my coupons.

  9. I tried the Head and Shoulders deal and when the coupon automatically deducted $9.49, the cashier voided it then manually entered the coupon for the lower amount. Grrrr, that always happens to me!!

  10. AshleyAshley says:

Steve, how did you get the purex coupon from the sample site? I didn’t see an area to trade it for a coupon. Help please?!

    • After signing up for the sample I was taken to a page where I could elect to take a coupon instead of waiting for the sample. I’d try it again to give you more details, but it’s not going to let me since I’ve already completed the offer.

  11. My cvs would not scan the h&s coupon and they would only take $3.00 off which was the half price bottle

    • That really sucks. The coupon-friendly cashiers at my store scan it and it takes off $9.49 automatically. There are a few cashiers at the store that would void this coupon out and re-enter it for $5.99, but I typically don’t shop on their shifts.

    • take them back!!!if its states up to $9.49 they could least give you the discount for the bottle that u paid full price for .it’s not like they won’t get there money back. if it was me i would’nt have gotten them and went somewhere else and use my coupon. return them.
