Walgreens Shopping Scenario for Beginners 6/17-6/23

Writing scenarios for you to use on the 6/17 Walgreens ad is a bit tricky. I don’t know if your store has the Reach coupon tearpads. If they do, you will want to do that deal. If not, the price isn’t worth it. If you need sunscreen, there’s a great deal on Coppertone, but the out-of-pocket is pretty significant. The Kraft Mac & Cheese deal is awesome if you printed the BOGO coupon earlier this week, but it stinks if you didn’t. There are also decent deals on Hefty One Zip Bags and Scott Paper Towels, but again they cost money out of pocket and you may be well-stocked.

So with that said, you may want to look at the full list of deals and add to these scenarios a bit.

If you did the recent Walgreens scenarios I posted then you have two $2 Register Rewards leftover from previous weeks. We will use both of these Register Rewards in Transaction #1. (If you do not have any RRs, then your out-of-pocket will be a little higher on the first transaction.)

BUY TWO ACT II POPCORN SINGLES, on sale $0.25 (unadvertised – but will work!)
Get $2.50 Register Rewards when you buy Colgate Total 4 oz
Get $2 Register Rewards when you buy two Suave Lotion
Use one $0.75/1 Colgate Toothpaste coupon, 6/3 SS newspaper insert (or use the $0.50/1 from 6/17 SS if you do not have the $0.75/1)
and use two BOGO Suave Lotion coupons, 5/20 RP newspaper insert (exp 6/17!)
and use your two $2 Register Rewards (total $4) from previous weeks
Price at Register: $1.75, but receive $4.50 Register Rewards

BUY ONE ACT II POPCORN SINGLES, on sale $0.25 (unadvertised – but will work!)
Get $5 Register Rewards when you buy one Mentholatum Pain Relief Deep Heating
Use your $4.50 of Register Rewards from Transaction #1
Price at Register: $1.74, but get $5 of Register Rewards

And from that point, continue on with whatever deals you choose from the full list of Walgreens deals 6/17-6/23.

If you need help putting together a scenario beyond this, I invite you to post about your situation in the comments. Either I, one of our our other team members, or a fellow reader should be able to help you out.

Extreme Couponing Tip: You can usually get two prints of most internet coupons. To find them in the easiest possible way, use our preclipped links that take you right to the coupon. Then come back and click the same link to get your 2nd print. This will save you the time spent searching for the coupon.

  1. Thank you Steve, I need some freezer bag and they come just in time. Thank you for all hard work and have a good weekend :)

  2. Hi Steve,

Do In-store coupons, count towards the total number of coupons on a purchase?
I would like to buy 3 Scotts paper towel and use manufacture and instore coupons.

    Thank you.

  3. I have a confession, I have Walgreenaphobia even though this is right next to Publix.
Today my goal is to buy something in Walgreen and walk out with a smile using your reccomendation. But first Im going to shopPublix to build my confidence so I can conquer
my fear with Walgreen. It should be name Wargreens.
Thanks again for your guidance and clarification.
