Walgreens Shopping Scenario for Beginners 6/10-6/16

Writing a Walgreens scenario for the 6/10 ad is a bit tricky. There are some great deals on some products, but I’m not sure that the demand is widespread enough to warrant adding them to everyone’s scenario here. So if you are interested in diapers, wipes, Starbucks Ice Cream, Thermacare Heat Wraps, Hanes T-Shirts or Beef Jerky, you may want to check out the full list of deals and edit this scenario a bit.

If you did last week’s transactions, then you have a $6 Register Reward and a $2 Register Reward leftover from last week. We will be using the $6 Register Reward on Transaction #1 and the $2 Register Reward on Transaction #2.

Here is the 6/10/12 Walgreens scenario:

BUY THREE WET ‘N WILD NAIL COLOR, on sale B2G1 FREE ($1.99 regular price)
ONE GAIN DISH LIQUID 9 OZ, on sale $0.99
ONE TUF PAPER TOWELS, on sale $0.59
Get $2 Register Rewards when you buy two select Nivea for Men products
Use two $2.50/1 Nivea for Men Energy After Shave Splash printable coupons
and use two $1/1 Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowls printable coupons (zip 19057)
and use three $1/1 Wet ‘n Wild coupons, 5/13 RP newspaper insert
and use one $0.50/1 Gain coupon, 5/13 P&G newspaper insert
and use your $6 Register Reward leftover from last week
Price at Register: $0.06, but receive $2 Register Rewards

BUY TWO NIVEA FOR MEN PRODUCTS (check options for $2.25/1 coupons here), on sale 2/$7
BUY ONE NESTLE CANDY .77-2.1 OZ, on sale $0.49
Get $2 Register Rewards when you buy two select Nivea for Men products
Use two $2.25/1 Nivea for Men printable coupons available here
and use your $2 Register Reward leftover from last week (MAKE SURE that you DO NOT use the $2 RR from this week’s first transaction. You must use the one from last week. If you use the Nivea one from Transaction #1 this week, you will not get another Nivea Register Reward from this transaction.)
Price at Register: $2.99, but get $2 Register Rewards

It is very possible that your store will not have the Nivea product from Transaction #1. If that’s the case, use the Nivea coupons from your planned second transaction in Transaction #1 instead. (Your out-of-pocket will be 50 cents higher.) Then skip Transaction #2.

Extreme Couponing Tip: You can usually get two prints of most internet coupons. To find them in the easiest possible way, use our preclipped links that take you right to the coupon. Then come back and click the same link to get your 2nd print. This will save you the time spent searching for the coupon.

  1. Steve, what is the order you suggest handing in MQs, RRs, and in-ad Qs now that Walgreens is changing its register system? Do you have any experience with the new registers?

    • I haven’t had any super deals with overage since my store changed registers, so I haven’t had a chance to test out the order of coupons. I think I would stick with what has been best in the past until we get a chance to test it:

manufacturer coupons first, then wags coupons (in-ad coupons/booklets), then RRs, then cash.
