I stopped into Walgreens this morning when I went to get newspapers. I was in such a hurry to beat the weather that I forgot to take coupons with me (other than a $2.50 Register Reward that was in my wallet.) Luckily, the two most important deals didn’t require coupons other than ones from the newspapers I was picking up and a store coupon I could grab from the cosmetics counter. I’ll be going back when there’s a break in the weather to use my smaller Suave Register Rewards to pick up some cases of water and Grape Nuts cereal. (My savings percentage won’t be so hot on those deals, but they are stock-up prices for me and I have a bunch of RRs.)
Note that I did not need any fillers on my second transaction. I was able to use RRs to offset the cost of the Coppertone because I was buying a few packs of cigarettes (which are off-budget and not listed.) If you are trying to mimic my transaction, make sure you add an extra item for each Register Reward you want to use. I think the Maruchan Raemen Noodles on sale for 29 cents are your cheapest option. (Note that the Raemen Noodles are an online bonus buy and will not be marked on your shelf; however they will ring up 29 cents.)

Then I got 2 coppertones
another ramen for my fitler used my 10rrs
for a total of 2.87 plus 1.38 tax equals $4.25 got back another 10rrs.
Awesome trip. Thank you for all you do.
Well done! You’re welcome
Trying my best with only $1.00 Qs since we didnt get the Bayer in P’Cola.
There may also be a $2.50/2 coupon in your 4/29 RP. Still will be very cheap, but no MM
I have a question. What is the best order to give rr’s and coupons in? Sometimes when my total gets low they won’t let me give another rr because it cuts into tax. Thanks
I think you are always better off to use the RRs last. Even if you pay a little out-of-pocket and have to hold on to a RR, you are not surrendering any of your discounts from the coupons you have.
A Register Reward is (almost) like cash. You can always use it on a future transaction.
I think you should do an about you page. I’m sure readers are as curious how you got into this as I am. Also I would be really curious to see a picture of your couponing stash.
No doubt. It has been one of those things on the “to-do” list that keeps getting pushed down the list all the time. I need to make it a priority.

Awesome. Once I get back out to the store my transactions will be very similar with a few bottles of Grape Nuts tossed in (if my store has any left.)
I bought 6 bayer because the price at my walgreens was 3.59. My oop was $3.54. My RR didn’t print so I spoke to the manager which ended up giving me $10 in cash!
I wish everyone had Wags stores with good customer service like yours
That must’ve been awesome to hand them $3.54 and to get a $10 bill and six boxes of Bayer handed to you!
