Today was a good day for us at Publix, although we had a few surprises. First, a bag of Stacy’s Pita Chips just jumped into our cart, even though we didn’t even have a coupon for it. ┬áSecond, we got in a jam and bought seven cans of cat food at full price. We are just trying to hold ourselves over until a deal comes around. It’s hard to believe that we’ve depleted our 400+ cans/trays we bought on the two hot stock-up deals in the past year.

Publix deals feel like they are getting very repetitive. I do not think my house wants anymore Ocean Spray, no matter how free it is:( Luckily you like the Voila meals….GROSS

    • Mmmmm Voila! The only thing we use the Ocean Spray for is a little mixer for Stephanie’s vodka on weekends ;)

    • We mix our Ocean Spray with lemon lime soda (7UP, Sierra Mist, etc). My friends and family refuse to accept any more free Ocean Spray ;)

  2. I agree with the Ocean Spray!! We have alot too, and even though it has a long shelf life, it starts to get a little cloudy after a little while…

  3. Just out of curiosity- what breeds of dog(s) do you have? :)

    • I have a mutt – part retriever, part chow, part we don’t know ;)

She’s not a small dog like the Cesar meals are made for, but the small serving size is ok since we mix it with dry food. (She’s about 45-50 lbs.)

I live in Pensacola and just found out today by a worker at Walgreens, who also coupons, that publix here wont be giving money back to people. Some how a lady walked out with $100. I don’t know if it’s true and if its gonna be the same for all publixs.

    • If that’s the case and you know you will be negative, buy a Publix gift card with your order (before you start deducting coupons) to cover any of your pretax overage. That should keep you above zero and you can still preserve your profit to use in another week ;)

    • The Publix here on near Destin yesterday gave me back just short of $4 cash. I asked beforehand to see if they would give cash back, gift card, or would I lose the balance, and they ended up giving me cash back, but I turned right around and used it on the next order.

  5. I love publix, but I only get the stuff I need now because I still have a lot of meds that we never use here. It is hard to donate those! lol

  6. I like to mix the OS Cherry with my favorite Carlo Rossi Sangria. Yummmmm!

  7. My wife like’s the idea of mixing it with Vodka, she wants to try it now after you posted it here.

    • Basic stuff – Vodka and Cranberry with a little squeeze of lime if you have it. I think I remember it being called a Cape Codder from my bartending school days, but “vodka and cran” is pretty common. She still hasn’t tried vodka and cherry yet.
