Usually I write the CVS shopping scenario under the assumption that you have the ECBs leftover from last week’s scenario, but we’ve had so many crazy deals pop up over the course of the week that I have no idea what ECBs you guys/gals have leftover. So with that in mind, I’m kind of winging it a bit here.
Note that in Transaction #1, your store may give you a hard time about giving you overage. If that’s the case, ask them to scan the Bayer Advanced a second time so you can use both coupons. Then go back into the store after you’ve checked out to pick up the other Bayer Advanced that they owe you. (And if you don’t have the CVS store coupon from the Red Coupon Machine this past week, just ignore this.)

You will pay a total of $22.33 but you will get $10 back on a gas card, so it’s like you are paying $12.33 for everything including a box of Bayer Aspirin, two tubes of Toothpaste, a package of Floss, two boxes of Cereal, one container of Planter’s Nuts and 24 mega-rolls of paper towels!
Note that there’s also a very good deal on diapers. You can view scenarios here. If you decide to do the diaper deal, insert it between Transaction #3 and Transaction #4 so you can use the $10 ECBs you earn to lower your out-of-pocket on the gas card deal.
Extreme Couponing Tip: You can usually get two prints of most internet coupons. To find them in the easiest possible way, use our preclipped links that take you right to the coupon. Then come back and click the same link to get your 2nd print. This will save you the time spent searching for the coupon.Never miss another hot coupon, deal or freebie again! Hmmm the Great wall of Paper towels! sounds like a pretty cool way to use all those ECB’s from the Diabetes Monitor MM and a gas card to boot! delightful
Thanks for the wonderful transaction set up this week!
Shafted again…no Bayer coupon!!!
Are you serious? Ouch!
Hi! I’ve been following your scenarios the past few weeks without a hitch and loving them. That is until this week… I looked all through my coupons and I do not have the Scott paper towels coupons. Can you please suggest another scenario for me if you have the time? Thanks ever so much. I have most other coupons (and at least 4 of each insert).
OK. After Transaction #3 you are $4 towards the gas card from the two boxes of Pebbles. So you need $26 more (it can be a little bit below that) to get the gas card.
Try this on for size for Transaction #4
BUY FOUR PLANTERS NUTS (pick ones included in the gas card deal), on sale $4
BUY TWO PEBBLES CEREAL, on sale 2/$4
BUY FOUR NABISCO CRACKERS, on sale 3/$4 ($5.34 total for four)
ONE 2L PEPSI, on sale $1
Use four $1/1 Planters from today’s paper
Use another $1/2 Post Kids Cereal printable
Use two $1/2 Nabisco printables from here: http://www.couponaholic.net/coupons2
and use your $2 ECB leftover from Transaction #3
Price at Register: $17.34, but get a $10 Gas Card
Alternatively, you can just stop after Transaction #2 and just buy the Glide Floss from Transaction #3 (if you prefer to skip the gas card deal)
Thanks very much! I don’t have the planters coupons but I will make it work! I appreciate your time!
I think Monica’s shopping trip included a Pebbles Cereal coupon from an insert. Maybe you have some of those. Really, if you need to stretch things that much, maybe you should just skip the gas card deal, instead of paying prices that are not at the stock-up level.
Thanks again. I’m debating on skipping it or not. I thinks there’s one that fits me better coming up soon. I’m sorry for the trouble.
No prob. No sense spending money (even if it’s not that much) on stuff you don’t need
My CVS cashier would not accept the $3 CVS red machine Bayer coupon AND the $3 newspaper Bayer coupon stacked on one $3 box of Bayer. She was adamant that one coupon alone got me the item free so if I wanted to use both coupons, I would need to get a second box of Bayer.
Yeah, I thought some CVS cashiers would do that. That’s why I wrote on a few posts tha folks might have to take a second box for free if their store wouldn’t allow it. The wording on the coupon is pretty clear to me, but some cashiers will be stubborn.
Also, I had many items on the counter (total before coupons was just over $25 with Colgate toothpaste (2), Bayer aspirin, Centrum vitamins, Glide floss, and Crest toothpaste), so I was not looking for cash back; the $3 from the second coupon would have reduced the total cost of my order, but I still would have owed.
