I had a friend tell me that they were interested in the Gillette Fusion Styler and I knew it was on sale this week, so I headed out to CVS for a last minute trip to pick it up. The Red Coupon Machine spit out a $15/1 Physician’s Formula coupon and I found some products in the skin care line marked all the way down to $4.99, plus I had a $10/$30 Gillette Shaving CVS coupon from the Red Coupon Machine earlier this week. Plus I also had a $1.50/1 CVS Makeup Remover coupon from the Red Coupon Machine as well.

Then my cashier deducted the full value of my P&G insert coupon ($13.99), even though the item only cost $9.99….craziness! Here’s the breakdown of my crazy transaction, plus I’ve included a scan of my receipt so you all don’t think I’m full of you-know-what:

ONE PHYSICIANS FORMULA SKIN CARE PRODUCT, on sale $4.99 (regular price $19.99)
ONE GILLETTE FUSION STYLER, on sale $9.99 (regular price $19.99)
ONE GILLETTE FUSION POWER PROGLIDE RAZOR, on sale $9.99 (regular price $12.79)
ONE GILLETTE FUSION CARTRIDGE 5 CT, regular price $14.79
ONE CVS MAKEUP REMOVER TOWELETTES, regular price $1.49
Get $4 Extra Care Bucks when you buy Gillette Fusion Razor
Used one $10/$30 Gillette Shaving Products, CVS Red Coupon Machine
and used one BOGO Buy Gillette Fusion Cartridges, get Razor FREE, 6/3 P&G (deducted $13.99)
and used one $15/1 Physician’s Formula coupon, CVS Red Coupon Machine
and used one $1.50/1 CVS Makeup Remover coupon, CVS Red Coupon Machine
Price at Register: $0.77 plus tax, but received $4 Extra Care Bucks
NET PRICE FOR EVERYTHING: $3.23 MONEYMAKER!

I’m still floored…104.7% savings!

  1. Nice one!!

  2. Awsomes deal, I bought the Fusion razor too, but not as good as yours. Still had to pay a little bit, but it was still a good deal.

    Great buy…

  4. The coupon fairy must have been keeping an eye out for you tonight!!!

  5. Hi Steve

    Fantastic deal!

Unbeknownst, you must have picked up some good luck fairy dust on the way to CVS!! :)

  6. hello, just a question, how does a BOGO free coupon work for a BOGO 50% off promotion at CVS?

    • Well, you are allowed to use the coupon; that’s for sure.

However, I don’t think there’s a set rule, so it will probably depend on how friendly your cashier is with you. They could insist on deducting the half price item, or they could hook you up and deduct the full price item.

      • aryt.. chances are, i might get both items for free or will have to pay 50%..? :) good enough for me, steve. i just hope for it to be better when i get 2 items FREE! :p thanks so much. keep the deals/scenarios coming :)

        • AWESOME DEAL, btw!

        • I think you misunderstood.

One will cost 100% and one will cost 50%. The cashier might deduct the 100% one, or they might deduct the 50% one.

If they deduct the 100% one, one will be free and one will cost half-price.
If they deduct the 50% one, one will be free and one will cost full-price.

  7. I want a Red Coupon like you use in my area store. I never get any of the coupons you list it spits out. Evidently these are regional too.

  8. oh! ok.:) thanks for the clarification.

  9. they didnt adjust the $15/1 Physician’s Formula coupon, when it only cost 4.99?

    • No, it had fine print tha said the coupon is deducted from the total purchase that includes the specified item (or something to that effect.) When it beeped I showed the wording to the cashier before he adjusted it. He’s an easygoing guy and put it in for the full amount.

The cashiers that work at my CVS on Sunday morning are also very nice, but they would have probably insisted on adjusting it anyways.

I hit the CVS jackpot too Steve! Got the 15.00 Physicians coupon too & the item I grabbed had a 3.00 off 1 manufacturer coupon peelie on it!
