Walgreens Shopping Scenario for Beginners 5/20-5/26

Here’s a quick Walgreens scenario for the the week of 5/20/12 that I whipped up for you guys and gals. I labeled the third transaction as “optional” because if you aren’t interested in a truckload of mayonnaise (who isn’t?) or Thermacare, you’ll probably want to pass on the out-of-pocket expense. I set these transactions up so they keep the out-of-pocket low if you did last week’s transactions. If you did the transactions from last week’s post, you finished with a $5 Register Reward.

Here is the Walgreens shopping scenario for beginners for the week of 5/20/12:

TRANSACTION #1
BUY ONE SLEEP SHEETS NATURAL SLEEP AID 10 PK, on sale $4.99
BUY THREE NESTLE CHOCOLATE BARS, on sale $0.49
Get $5 Register Rewards when you buy Sleep Sheets Natural Sleep Aid 10 pk
Use one $1/3 Nestle Bars coupon, 4/29 SS newspaper insert
and use the $5 Register Reward leftover from last week (if you have one)
Price at Register: $0.46 (plus tax), but get $5 Register Rewards

TRANSACTION #2
BUY ONE U BY KOTEX SLEEK TAMPONS 18 CT, on sale $3.99
BUY TWO SKINNY COW DREAM CLUSTERS 6 PK, on sale $2.99
BUY ONE TUF PAPER TOWELS SINGLE ROLL, on sale $0.59
Get $3 Register Rewards when you buy U by Kotex Sleek Tampons 18 ct
Use one $1/1 U by Kotex Tampons, 5/20 SS newspaper insert
and use two $1/1 Skinny Cow, 4/29 SS newspaper insert
and use the $2/2 Skinny Cow Walgreens store coupon, Walgreens May Savings Book
and use your $5 Register Reward earned in Transaction #1
Price at Register: $5.56, but get back $3 in Register Rewards

Here are two ideas for a third transaction, depending on what you may need at your house:

I had to nix the Hellmann’s transactions. The coupons in the 5/20 paper have a limit of two per shopping trip and since you have to do the full deal in one transaction to get the Register Reward at Walgreens, this deal is dead unless you want to buy other items in the Register Rewards deal

BUY FIVE HELLMANN’S MAYONNAISE, on sale 2/$6
BUY TWO AJAX CLEANSERS, on sale BOGO $0.99
Get $5 Register Rewards when you buy $15 of select grocery items (including Hellmann’s)
Use five $1/1 Hellmann’s Mayonnaise, 5/20 RP newspaper insert
and use your $3 Register Reward from Transaction #2
Price at Register: $7.99, but get $5 Register Rewards

TRANSACTION 3B (OPTIONAL):
BUY TWO THERMACARE HEAT WRAPS 2-3 CT, on sale $5.99
BUY TWO AJAX CLEANSERS, on sale BOGO $0.99
