HOT Walgreens Updates for this week’s sale (5/6-5/12)

We have several HOT updates related to the new Walgreens sale that started today (5/6/12):

We’ll start with the one piece of bad news. The Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Bars Apple flavor are NOT printing the Register Rewards. Do not buy this product unless you’re willing to get stiffed!

The Lysol No-Touch Kitchen System deal is better than expected. Because the $1/1 manufacturer coupon did not run in today’s paper, Walgreens increased the Register Reward from $1.50 to $2.50. These are priced at $8.99. Use the $3/1 coupon from the March 2012 All You Mag or the 4/15 SS newspaper insert to pay $5.99. Then get $2.50 Register Rewards back and submit for the $3 rebate in the April 2012 All You Magazine (expires 5/9/12!) Net price is just 49 cents!

Also, make sure you watch for Try Me Free peelies on the T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel. These have been found in some stores today. If so, pay $4 and get $4 back in Register Rewards. Then submit for a $4 Try Me Free rebate to have a $4 moneymaker!

And here’s the big one…the $5/$35 Walgreens coupon I wrote about earlier (that is available here) is working on a $35 purchase before you deduct coupons, so it’s not as bad as we all thought. I’m going to head back to the store to do another deal tonight because of this. I’ll let you know how it goes when I get back.

Thanks to Wild for Wags and Frugal Finders for the tips.

Extreme Couponing Tip: You can usually get two prints of most internet coupons. To find them in the easiest possible way, use our preclipped links that take you right to the coupon. Then come back and click the same link to get your 2nd print. This will save you the time spent searching for the coupon.

  1. Didn’t I see the Scrubbing Bubbles 1 Step were on sale this week for $4.99 after RR? If so we can use the $5.00/1 printables from awhile back to get them for free? Plus submit for the rebate?
Also werent the Glade Expressions offering a RR this week? If so, using the B1G1 printables would make these dirt cheap.
(Sorry I’m asking and haven’t actually verified these deals myself…I haven’t been able to get up to Wags yet today :)

    • If your $5/1 is still valid, then yes you can. I know the rebate is dead already. You may be right about the Glade Expressions. I’m not sure why I didn’t see that. I wonder if my coupons were already dead, but maybe some printed them later and they’re still valid?

Tonight I purchased 5 cases of soda 2pepsi, 2Mt Dew, 1 Diet Pepsi, 1 pepsi Next. I used a MQ I got last night for $1/1 case Pepsi Next 1 SQ for free diet Pepsi and 1 $10RR paid $3.98 OOP. While there I noticed that the Perfect Meatloaf Pan (always wanted this item) was on clearance for $7.49 pair with this week’s bonus buy (B1G1) I scored two of the for the low price of $7.49, added the Complete for $7.99 and the Witch Hazel for $4 used $18RR paid OOP $2.84 Got back $12RR + $4 MIR for the Witch Hazel. Had to do 2 transactions because my purchase broke the register twice. Still left the store making money…love Qs

  3. I purchashed the Apple Nutrigrain Bars and the RR did not print as you stated. I spoke to managers at two different stores and they rang up the Strawberry Bars to get the RR to print :)

    • Ahhh that was nice of them. I love when we actually get a good customer service story ;)

Ahrrrgggghhh! I went to Wags at midnight so I missed the news about the $5 coupon, and I know I spent well over the $35 before coupons.

And then, the store I went to had the rebate peelies on the product that is pictured to the left of the witch hazel in your picture. Sniff, sniff… missed out on saving another $9. But happy for you Steve that you did so well!

PS, I asked you on Friday about the Kotex/Speedstick deal. I was able to use my coupons at 2 different Publix stores yesterday, and no one batted an eyelash that I was using a “Free when you buy” Publix coupon stacked with a BOGO mfg coupon. Thanks again for confirming the scenario for me. I saved a little over $96 and spent $1.22 before tax! Even the cashier let out a “Holy Crap!” when she was done ringing me up! Haha!

Couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks Steve!

  5. Yup just checked…$5.00 Scrubbing Bubble MC doesnt expire until 5/10 (the one I have anyway) and the Glade ones are still good too.
Hitting the stores big time tomorrow!

  6. I got my Scrubbing Bubbles rebate back as “box closed” today… It was p’marked before deadline. I hate the wasted time spent doing these deals and then companies don’t stand behind their promises. Back to basics and no more brand name products for me!
