There were several produce items we needed today for a pasta salad that Stephanie is taking to work on Tuesday and we didn’t have time to run over to Aldi to save a few dollars. We are also breaking in a new grill tonight, so we needed some asparagus and corn. I was running low on bottled water for when I’m out on the bike or at the gym, so we picked up a few cases to get us to our $30 so we could use a $5/$30 coupon.

Also, the savings rate on this trip is understated, as I am not factoring in the $10 we saved on the gas card. The out-of-pocket on the transaction was $51.78 (plus $0.59 tax) and we left with a card worth $50 of gas she was going to buy anyways, so in a twisted way it is like we paid $1.78 plus tax and got $44.52 of groceries (96% savings), but that’s not how we calculate things on the site ;)

    • Brittany says:

I printed these coupons and it prints as a store coupon with no specified store. FISHY. So I went to Veri-fi it and both of the coupons are invalid. Don’t waste your ink :)

  2. Thanks for the details on the veggies…meaning letting us know that they are on sale or not along with the coupon deals. I follow the veggies to a “T” almost. Thx. I AM SAVING $$$…GOTTA LOVE IT. LOL

  3. This is awesome! I am curious though, how do you manage to get your hands on more than one stocking spree booklet? I am guessing your roommate and you both get one but you seem to use more than two of those coupons.

    • We get a booklet and my bro gets a booklet at his house. I take his booklet ;)

We always have exactly two booklets. Perhaps you are thinking of the in-store Stocking Spree coupon sheets that they have from time-to-time. I grab two of those whenever I see them in a store, so I often end up with 6-12 of those.

      • Ah, thanks for the clarification. I thought I was missing out;). I have a few friendly neighbors I filch from from time to time b/c they “hate the trouble of couponing”. Yesh. :)
