I went into Publix today with two lists. There was a smaller plan to buy only what I needed to buy before this sale ended, and a larger plan that included more items if I was lucky enough to find a shelf full of Carefree and some Allegra. I tried to use that $10 off Sweetbay coupon but Publix said the coupon reads it has to be $50 after all discounts were applied : (
Yeah, I wrote about that on another post. Some stores/cashiers/managers will not consider the manufacturer coupons as “discounts,” while others will.
It depends on the store. One Publix by my house REFUSES to let me use those coupons or any overage coupons……so I found an awesome Publix by my work that does let me. I also hand that one over first then the rest of my q’s. Try a different Publix.
Good luck!
Thanks, I will – if they don’t accept it at a different story I’ll substitute the $5 off Winn Dixie from enjoy the city. : )
that is awesome!!! i did print “1″ on the ocean spray but i was hoping to catch it when it reset : ( no luck yet!!! those pantiliners are sooo helpful right now! i am donating them to a battered women’s shelter along with many other freebies i have gotten at wags and cvs
where did you find that publix “freshen up booklet”? i have only seen the one stop, thanks!
I picked a couple up at a Publix on Sunday. The store I found it at was on US-19 (34th Street South), just north of 54th Avenue South in St. Petersburg.
My wife picked up 6 of them at our “now favorite” Clearwater Publix.
Is there a NEW $5/30 Winn DIxie coupon?
I have WD coupons from the Enjoy the City books. Mine isn’t from the weekly ad.
Man…when are they going to have those books on sale again?
The Enjoy the City books were just on sale 5/$29 a few days ago. I’m sure the sale will come back around, but it probably won’t be for a few weeks. I bet they run a mother’s day special.
ALLEGRA and the carefree no where to be found in Broward county. Once people cleared the shelves, I guess they decided not to restock since the new add starts on Monday. I already got a sneak peek at the new add and happy to say the $10 a $50 gas card is back (wyb $25 of groceries) !!!! Saving all my free products q’s to use on Monday!!!!!
What are you going to do with 35 packs of panty liners from all your trips piggy, lol????
Part of a big donation I’m working on…kind of looking forward to spring cleaning
Do they have decaf Gevalia coffee?
Not sure. Didn’t check. I want the caffeine!
I found decaf at my Publix in Newnan, Ga.
Steve, Alexia bread is really good, I am lucky enough here to get it for .99 cent at Sharp Shopper (groceries outlet located in VA, PA and can not use coupon because they do not take any coupon), but still a good deal. Will buy more next time I go shopping. Will also try to stock up alum. foil too.
I probably won’t try it for a while. It’s stashed for when I come off the diet for a weekend.
Yeah, my wife is falling off the low carb wagon for Easter weekend.

Wifey went to the 5 Publix stores that were close by but no money maker pantiliners. So, she mentioned it to the customer service rep at our now favorite store (notice I stated “now favorite”) and they offered to order 2 cases of them for her and when they come in if the coupon has expired, they told her they will take care of her and run them through customer service with the 2/1 Q’s. We are putting together a donation package as well plus, the wife can get a nice overage…Publix is the greatest!
That is awesome!
I’m so confused now. I am reading that stores allow overages and will actually give you money or put the overage on a Publix gift card and I’m also reading that the cashier will adjust the total down to zero to avoid an overage. Which is it?
Should I just play it safe and buy other items to come out with a zero or positive purchase amount?
I have never had a coupon or total adjusted. I have received cash back from a negative balance numerous times, but sometimes I just buy a large enough gift card at the beginning of a transaction to keep my balance above zero, negating the need for a manager override to finish the transaction.
Great idea. So, you buy a giftcard equal to or more than the anticipated overage at the beginning of the transaction?
Yes, based on your subtotal (excluding tax)
i.e. if you believe your total will be $7.92 plus tax, buy an $8 gift card with your other items. Then your total will be $0.08 plus tax and no need for a manager override because your balance hits zero. And if you have a few good trips in a row, you will roll the gift cards, leaving with progressively larger gift cards each time.
Basically…buy a gift card at a discount, and pay with a previously bought gift card. At one point, we went several months without handing over cash and we only had to start using cash again because we emptied out our gift cards on a gas card week.
Wow…learned something new – thanks again!
You’re welcome
Great idea…i have been buying other things that have been on sale, sometimes i dont need. now i can save the overage until i find a deal on something i do need. Thank you.
sigh once again no money makers for me this week. Last week my store had tons of Carefree now they are totally out of both kinds that are $1.29 and no cover girl emery boards at my store. So I didn’t do as well as I wanted to. I will try again next week since it the last week of the green flyer. Also couldn’t find the carefree coupon on coupons.com guess it was out too?
