I really didn’t need anything today. I walked into Publix with a plan: “Buy two packages of BOGO pita bread and a package of hummus,” but I also brought a $5/$30 coupon, along with a few other coupons as well, just in case I hit the Carefree jackpot. Sure enough, I was floored when another “Pantiliner Party” broke out! All of varieties were stocked and it didn’t look like anybody had touched them since they put them on the shelves. There must’ve been at least fifty!

My Softsoap peelies say 8 oz or larger, where did you find one that was good for the 7.5 size that’s on sale?
They were on some of the bottles at the store.
One of the tampa publix was restocked on the carefree too, grabbed 8 of them yesterday…. thanks
Nice! I’m going back tomorrow since the coupon is expiring anyways and get some free meat
Love these pita’s! Not only are they good for a sandwich, but make great pita pizza’s. I buy at least 6 and freeze them. I ran out 4 weeks ago:( and am so happy for this sale.
I paid full price for a package a few days ago to try them for the first time. I love them with just a little Publix Hummus. About 225-250 calories total for pita and hummus and it keeps me full for a while!
Question…in your scenario above since the store technically “owed” you money, how did that play out? Does Publix give you the cash or a GC for any overage? I was under the impression you had to use that to purchase other products. Since I live in the same area as you, I’m super curious…:)
They paid me cash, although the register beeped and needed an override when a coupon pushed the pre-tax total negative.
To avoid the beepage, you can buy a gift card before they start scanning coupons if you know how far negative you will be.
Steve taught me the trick of getting the gift card before hand. I ordered 2 cases (18 per case) of the pantiliners since they were always wiped out. When they came in, used 36 $2/1 Publix Q’s, 6 $1/1 MQ’s and 3 .50/1 Internet MQ’s and walked out with a $30 giftcard, and 2 cases of pantiliners for free. Putting together a box to donate to a local battered women’s shelter.
That’s awesome Bernie. Now you just need a dirt cheap deal on a stock-up deal or another gas card deal (you can use a Publix gift card as payment towards a gas card – yet another trick compliments of the Couponaholic!)
I stopped by publix, bought 7 carefree, 2 kraft fresh take, and a bottle of soda, used (7) $2/1 PQ, (2) $1/1 MQ, (1) PQ B1G1 Fresh Take + $1.50/2 MQ, saved 23.48 and was paid $6.88. 141% savings.
The Muellers site, says no coupons available.
Nice deal
The lady that is head of the dept for the carefree begged my husband and I to buy 10 each and then come back for more! She ordered 500 and the truck was 2 days late! I feel bad taking the cash (although I enjoy causing that headache for managers at my walmart since they are so rude) but because of this deal we literally have run out of room for storing food! I guess ill just save it for next week!
The store coupon expires tonight. Go back and get them today.
Amelia, what store you are going to? I checked a few stores today and could not find any carefree.I am in 33703 area.
Oh yeah we are headed there now. I meant I’m going to save the cash for shopping next week.
Yeah, what store ordered 500? Tonight is the last night.
My publix is usually good about the GAB and YAB flyers but apparently I have a ton of “extreme couponers” in my area because the GABs have been MIA since the first day of it. And the money maker items that pop up every once in while (like vitamins, sominex, etc) always disappear within the first days and we are lucky if they get back in stock. Pretty upsetting because overage is pretty much a lifeline for me. I have 10 dollars a week for non food items and even with coupons, it does not go far!!!! Oh well, maybe there will some more moneymakers soon.
That sucks! Have you asked your store if they will give you a rain check, even though the items are technically not on sale. If so, you can extend the life of those Publix store coupons. Publix will let you use expired coupons if they were valid when the rain check was issued.
