I decided to shop the Publix sale one last time to pick up some Nathan’s Hot Dogs and some more Almondmilk before the price changes. Note that I did not include the gas card in the computations; if you consider that the gas was going to be purchased anyways, I actually showed a profit of a few dollars.

  1. Can’t wait til I’m shopping like a pro. ;) Been couponing for a few weeks now and learning new things everyday. Sorry to hear the tatziki was a disappointment.

    • You’ll get there! The good news is that it was only 50 cents to try it out.

      • Juliegirl says:

Hey, Steve, I tried the roasted red pepper and artichoke variety using the same coupon, and for $.50 it was not bad at all!

        • I might have to try that, although I’m tempted to use the Deli Department coupon on some roast beef ;)

  2. Got all my coupons together and now I can’t find my $5/$30 that I scored by being in Fl last week and buying 10 papers. Only thing I can think of is that I left them in Fl.. What a bummer?

  3. The “Lysol Bathroom, All Purpose Cleaners or Kitchen Cleaners” coupon is $1.00 off 2, not $1.00 1. I’m going to go ahead and get it though since I need it and the price isn’t that bad. (The $1.00/1 coupon is for Neutra Air sprays…)

Thanks for posting your shopping trips and savings… since I normally shop on the last day of the sale it is great to find some last minute scenarios that I may not have thought of earlier. I appreciate you. :)

    • Hey Gina -

According to Publix corporate, their policy is to honor the words on the coupons. Although the picture is of the Neutra Air Sprays, the wording on the coupon is $1 off one Lysol Disinfectant Spray 12 oz or larger.

The Bathroom, All Purpose and Kitchen Cleaners are all Lysol products, they are all disinfectants (this is clear when you read the back of the bottles where it says “TO DISINFECT:”), and they are all 12 oz or larger. Hence, Publix will accept the coupon, even though a different product is pictured.

I do realize that there is another coupon that is more explicitly for this product, but I believe the wording does not prohibit its use here.

That said, I do respect your difference of opinion. Some may not feel comfortable with doing this deal, and that’s fine ;)

  4. I had to go one last time as well for the gas card! I paid $40.32 with tax for $33 in groceries and $50 gas card ($83 total!!!). I am glad I’m good at math otherwise I wouldn’t be able to keep up with all the coupon calculations! Savings at Publix = $41.55 on recipt but I think it’s more like $43 :)
