Up to $10 Moneymaker on L’Oreal Hair Color at CVS!

Wow, I have an incredible moneymaker opportunity at CVS! One of my readers, Cristina, tipped me off that she bought a few L’Oreal hair color products on clearance for $2.57 and they counted towards the ECB deal, even though the ad says the deal excludes clearance! I was skeptical, so I went to CVS to see if I could do the deal. I went armed with five $5/2 L’Oreal Hair Color coupons from the 1/1 RP newspaper insert.

I found a lot of products with 50% off tags, but none of them had the 75% discount I was hoping to find. So I decided to doublecheck the prices by taking them over to the Red Coupon Machine (you can price-check there.) I found that almost all of them were ringing up 75% off, even though the shelf tags didn’t say so.

I bought 11 products for a total of about $26. I used the five $5/2 coupons and only paid about $1 plus tax. Then, lo’ and behold, a $10 ECB printed on my receipt, for a $9 moneymaker. Had I been better prepared, I would have brought an extra $2/1 L’Oreal Hair Color (which was also in the 1/1 RP newspaper insert) or a $1/1 L’Oreal Root Rescue printable coupon available here. Then they would have needed to adjust the last coupon down and it would have been a full $10 moneymaker!

Also, while you’re there, you may want to take your $2/1 Any Almay Cosmetic coupons from the 1/1 SS newspaper insert. Another reader tipped me off tha some Almay Mascaras were marked down to $2.09 (75% off), making them only 9 cents each with the newspaper coupon!

Wow…speechless! ;)

Steve, that is awsomes, I was able to get some of these too this morning, I just accidently saw it. My CVS here also have some Nice and Easy, Natutal Instincts on cleareance too, and I can use $3, $1 coupons plus Natural Instinct I bought gave 2EB, so make it free and also moneymaker. I like to ask you one question: I saw CVS flyer has: BIC disposable razor Buy 1 get 1 50% and we just got a coupon 1/8 Buy one get one free. Is this worth to buy it, sorry I am confusing I can not figure out how it work and how much I have to pay? Pls help.

    • steve says:

I think you can get a better deal on disposable razors. It might be worth picking up if you are in dire need right now.

    • Brenda says:

I guess you would buy one and get 2 free, if the price is right its up to you

Steve thanks for this deal. Lucky for me my CVS had enough for the 10. ALSO there was another great find my CVS had the Loreal New Root Rescue for 75% off. They went from $7.99 to $1.99. Now the most amazing thing is right beside the product they had a manufacture coupon for $2.00 off so I picked up 10 so I did not have to go home and cut out the other coupon. They are all going to be donating to my local women’s shelter but I thought your readers should keep a look out for this deal too.

Woohoo, thank you so much for this deal !! I bought 11. The Excellence Creme rang up at 2.24 (I got 7) and the Excellence To Go rang up at 2.62 (I got 4) Used (4) $5/2 and (3) $2/1. Paid 16 cents :) ))) and 1.84 tax = $2 got back $10 !!!!!

  5. Anna says:

This also counts towards the beauty club !!

Right after reading your post I went to CVS to get the L’Oreal deal.
There was not even one hair color on clearance, everything regular price!
I headed then to the next CVS store and found at least some L’Oreal on clearance, but not enough to score the $10 ECB. L’Oreal “10 minut Color To Go” was only 50% off , and “Excellence Creme”
was 75%, but both really limited amounts and shades.
I will go back tomorrow to get some Clairol Nice and Easy Foam which is also on clearance, after I look for the coupon.

    • steve says:

That sucks! Quite a few others are getting the deal.

      • Ewa says:

Same story was with deal you mentioned before on L’Oreal makeup @Wags .
One store was showing only 50% off, and another few miles north had them marked the price you mentioned.
I am starting to see the pattern: more north you go , better deal you get !

        • steve says:

Clearance is a crapshoot. I have one Wags store that hasn’t marked down all those Pantene and Head & Shoulders products yet, even though the others marked them down a week ago.

      • Anna says:

The tags in my store were only for 25% off but when I scanned the items at the red machine it showed 75% off.

  7. azal idris says:

My store had these for $2.09… wow

  8. amy prow says:

thank you! i was able to get 10 boxes of dye, which 8 are going in my donation box for my local women’s shelter. I too found the $2 off the Root Touch Up in CVS right by the dye labeled at $1.99. Love CVS. Free plus $10 Wow oh Wow

  9. Chelsea says:

Thank you so much, I follow your site daily!! I got 12 of the hair colors and only paid $2.05 OOP plus got the $10 ECB. My receipt said I saved $109.38 , that’s amazing.

  10. Sheri says:

Yay !! Just did this one…a lot of women will be happy – donation box it goes !!!

  11. Maria says:

Thank you Steve I found this deal and now I would like to donate this any recommendations where you can donate them? I believe we live around the same area

    • steve says:

I’m in St. Pete, FL and I think CASA would be a good match. I think they would get them into the hands of some women who could use them :)

      • Kim R says:

Your in St. Pete???? Me tooooo!!!! So your the one clearing the shelves..LOL!!!

        • steve says:

LOL, nah not clearing the shelves unless there’s 1-4 of something left. If so, then it might be me. Or in the L’Oreal case, I’m going to take enough to do the deal if it’s there. When we shop Publix, we usually do a few stores so we can spread it out.

99% of the time, I’m not the one clearing it out if it’s a good deal, because I’ll quickly run over to the closest store and grab a few before I tip everyone off. (I live less 20 blocks from two Publixes, one CVS, one Walgreens and a Dollar General.)

I know you were joking, but I just wanted to clarify. Also, as long as it’s not a clearance deal, you can get rainchecks at Publix and CVS. In fact, it’s always good to have a few rainchecks around, just in case it’s a crappy sales week when one of the $10 off a gas card promos is running.

  12. Kat says:

I did this deal 3 times at 4 different CVSs on the same card and the receipt still shows I could do more. How much hair color does one donation center need though :-) ?

    • steve says:

Wowsers! You’re much crazier than I am! I think you should relax and flip on the TV for a few minutes… perhaps get caught up on current events ;)

I’d let a few others scramble to get the deal. There will be plenty of other deals on things you need, and you don’t need to burn yourself out chasing items you don’t need.

  13. Maria says:

Thanks Steve I’m in st. Pete as well do you think casa wi take vitamins as well

    • steve says:

They might, but I think a better match for vitamins will be the St. Petersburg Free Clinic’s food bank. You can just take items around back to the dock where they will take them.

  14. deb says:

The cvs i shop at doesnt take coupons on clearance merchandise. Is this a normal practice for them?
